Step 1: Your contact information should be current.
During the transfer process, you will be contacted by both your old and new registrar.The contact information that is registered to your domain will be used by them.You can change your contact information from the control panel.You can perform a WHOIS search on your domain if you don't remember who it is.
Step 2: You can set up an email with a different service.
A lot of people use an email service that is tied to their domain.You will lose access to your email service during the domain transfer process.If you want to use another email account as a secondary means of communication, make sure you have a Gmail or Yahoo account.You should set this email as your contact email in your registration information.
Step 3: Request that you be able to access your domain.
The process for this varies depending on the registrar you currently use, but you can typicallyunlock your domain from the domain section of your control panel.This request should be made to your current domain registrar.
Step 4: The authorization code is needed to request it.
You have five days to request this code from every domain.You can either generate your code in the control panel or send it via email.You can usually request the code from the same section of the control panel that unlocked your domain.In order to transfer your domain, you will need this code.
Step 5: You need to make sure that you haven't recently transferred your domain.
You can't transfer your domain if it was created in the last 60 days.The organization that manages addresses on the internet is required by this requirement.
