If you are new to painting, a vase full of flowers is a good subject. When you decide the flower arrangement, you can practice mixing colors by painting vibrant blooms, dimensions and shadows from the vase.It is a chance to have fun and work on your skills.
Step 1: The paintbrush should be dipped in blue and white.
You don't have to blend the colors on your canvas, just start brushing the paint onto it.As you work, the colors will blend together. You should leave 3 inches of space at the bottom of the canvas for your table. You can use any colors you want for the background. For a more dramatic painting, use rich brown and gold.Do you want a minimalist painting?Leaving your background white is fine. You don't need to wait for the paint to dry before painting the table.
Step 2: Put your flat brush into the brown paint with a touch of white
The horizontal edge of your canvas needs to be 3 inches from the bottom so that you can make a straight table. You can fill this table space by painting horizontal strokes with your brown color. The background and table should be dry for 30 minutes. If you want a different table color, go for it.If you want to make your table look metallic, try using gray and black.
Step 3: Use a piece of white chalk or a pencil to draw a vase on the canvas.
For a classic vase shape, draw a circle that is about 3 inches below the table. There are 2 lines coming up from the top of the circle. The space between the lines should be 3 to 4 inches. To form the rim of the vase, draw a slightly curved line at the top.You can play with the shape of the vase. It's possible to make your vase wider near the top. It's up to you to place the vase in your painting.Place it in the center or one side for a dramatic effect.
Step 4: Before you start, you should decide what kind of flowers you want in your vase.
You know what shapes to make. Are you looking for some inspiration? We'll show you how to paint roses, tulips, and sunflowers, but you can choose whatever flowers you want.If you want to put tulips or make 2 circles for sunflowers, you should sketch your roses so they're rough circles. You can skip this step if you want to paint the flowers freehand. You can either paint a vase full of flowers or mix them.
Step 5: Paint the whole rose shape with a #8 round brush.
Pick a few colors you want your roses to be and squeeze white paint on your palette.Put your brush into the lightest color and fill it with a rose. You can make C-shaped strokes from the middle of the flower by dipping your brush in a darker shade. The petals are made by these. To make a lighter colored rose, mix a color with some white paint.Light pink paint can be used to fill in a rose.To make the petals, mix in a dark purple. If you want a more impressionist style, keep your brush strokes short and choppy.
Step 6: For beginners, tulips are a great flower to paint.
Load your #8 round brush and paint a tulip shape with it.Press the brush firmly at the base of the oval after dipping it in another color. The brush should be brought up along the side of the oval.If you do this for the other side, your tulip is done.Give your tulips pointed or frilly tips.
Step 7: Bright yellow sunflowers with dark orange centers can be created.
Take a paintbrush and dip it into the paint. If you want the sunflowers to be yellow, paint a large circle.Paint a smaller circle in the center with a darker orange color. The lines should be painted from the center out to the edge of the sunflowers. The petals are made by this.If they have black seeds, some sunflowers have darker centers. You can blend your brush with the orange to make a darker center.
Step 8: You can dip the paintbrush in green paint.
The brush should be pressed at the base of the flower or the bottom edge of its petals. When you reach the vase, drag it down in a single stroke. If you want to paint the vase a color or make it clear, you can stop at the rim or drag the brush down.If your vase is going to be clear, make the stems cross each other as if the flowers have fallen into the glass.
Step 9: There are gaps between the flowers with green leaves.
Press the paintbrush near the flowers at the rim of the vase.Release the pressure as you drag the brush away from the flower. To make the flowers look realistic, fill in the gaps with leaves that are a little darker or lighter. The brush you use is up to you.A round brush is better for rose leaves than a flat brush.
Step 10: Go over the chalk outline of your vase with a paintbrush.
If you're painting a colorful vase, you should fill it with any color you want.Do you want a clear glass vase? It's even easier if you use white to outline the vase.If you want the curves in the vase to look three-dimensional, you have to brush them white with a dry fan brush. To make a colorful vase look realistic, you have to decide where the light will hit the vase.Put a little white into the color you used for the vase and brush it onto that area.
Step 11: Take the paint you used for the table and mix it with black to make a shadow.
Take a look at where you put the highlights and paint your shadow on the opposite side.Add details to the wood with curly whorls and streaks by using the same darker table color. If you painted the table a metallic color, you can skip the detail, but you have to paint the shadow from the vase.
Step 12: You need to wait a few hours before handling it.
It gives the painting time to be set up.You should display your artwork. You could hang it on the wall or frame it.Do you want to put it on a table? The canvas can be set on a display stand. There are easels and stands that match the decor of the room.
