A lot to love event TV commercial, "Go See the World"
The left-of-center image that Subaru has had for a long time is visible in its advertising. An older, bearded, blind man tells an outdoorsy couple that they won't be able to find the "Peninsula Trail" on a map.He will take them there. They are down for an adventure because he is blind. And off they go!The man leads them to a crab shack, an ocean overlook, and a trail in the dark despite not being able to see.The scenery in this one is absolutely beautiful, and what makes it even cooler is the fact that the blind man is George.George is an artist and woodworker who works at Enchanted Hills Camp and Retreat and leads trail walks for the blind. The spot is very nice.
Carmichael Lynch, Enchanted Hills, George Wurtzel, See The World are some of the things that have been tagged.
The blind man giving directions to the Peninsula Trail is one of my all time favorite ads.Way to go!
You had it right the first time. You are cynical. The man portrayed is blind and a nature guide in that area. The events shown are based on real life and not a good reason to buy a car.
He should have been a pansexual gender neutral guy.Fuck off your commercials.
Huh?What does bigotry have to do with a kindly blind man helping people discover the natural wonders of his area? The blind man in this commercial works at a camp and takes people on nature walks.
The only way to deal with a bully is to tell Sara to pound sand up his ass.
Definitely not bigotry, but absolutely pathetic liberal feel good.He may be a guide, but he doesn't know when to tell them to turn unless there are braille strips on the road or they are driving a specific speed. The guy stumbled in the dark and held onto the blind guy to lead him.Get real!
Better question is, what does this have to do with the value of the vehicle?
I need to know where this spot is on the commercial.Since the commercial came out, I have been trying to find out. There are a lot of peninsula trails.I need to know where it was filmed.Please.dianeegbert08@ yahoo.com
There are scenes at Nicasio Reservoir, Marin Co. CA, and a farm background on Platform Bridge Rd.The crab shack at China Camp is about 1 mile from the junction with Sir Francis Drake Blvd.I am not sure, but the forest scenes could have been filmed in Samuel P. Taylor State Park on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.).
I can't find the place where the car pulled off the pavement onto the gravel and cattle guard.I can't find the scenes that are consistent with the northwestern parts of Marin and Sonoma counties.
The primary ocean scene was filmed from the view point at the end of Mendell Rd.The cattle guard at the Golden Gate National Recreation Area was filmed on Nicasio Valley Road as the car pulled off the paved road onto gravel. The town of Nicasio is north of 1.3 miles. The entire commercial was filmed in Marin County.
The "Peninsula Trail" is a figment of an "adperson's" imagination and does not exist.
I grew up in Marin County and was familiar with at least two of the scenes when I first saw the commercial, so I spent. There is an inordinate amount of time to identify the locations.
I like the commercial because it touches me in a way that I can find out who the blind man is, and I am pretty sure everyone else will like it as well.
I was moved by the commercial because I wanted to know who the blind old man was.A great way to do a commercial is to find out you are blind and work at a camp for the blind.Keep up the good work.!
Near the end, the young woman smiles as she listens to the forest sounds. The version found on-line is better than the one I have seen on TV.Thanks to Carmichael Lynch.
Nobody in their right mind in 100 years would take a complete and total stranger on a trip into midnight to find anything.
Why are these people pretending to be airplanes while listening to the whales? It seems really stupid.
The blind guy says to turn left as they turn. The girl smiles at the sound an owl makes that they can't see, and the blind guy says to turn and never see a whale.
I left a comment on your Sept. 21st post. There were several different locations where the commercial was filmed.
A tourist couple allows a blind person to drive into the woods in their car.Right.I thought the commercial was about a horror movie where a blind guy turns out not to be blind and murders tourists. You are at the front of the line to be taken advantage of if you believe in this hogwash.
The "turn left here" dialog is annoying because they already turned left.I am easily annoyed by that.
The blind man is leading the two dirty looking people to the peninsula trail.Everyone in the commercials looks like they need a bath.I wouldn't be killed in a car because they're all dirty looking.Big fat dykes and grungy liberals are the only ones who drive them. The liberals never remove their bumper stickers. When you are behind them, their left wing agenda is always right in your face.I wouldn't drive it on principle if you gave me a brand new car.One of their worst commercials was with the blind guy.
Excellent advertising.Fantasy, make believe, feel good message targeted towards people that live in a world where they make decisions on how they feel instead of logic and truth.I.E.They have a distorted view of reality.Anyone else notice that when a car drives 10 miles below the speed limit causing a backup 9 times out of 10 is a damned driver?
