Step 1: Pick up your materials.

Step 2: Place the potholder in half over the skillet handle.
To see where you need to sew the potholder, fold it over the skillet handle.To mark the area where you want to sew, place a few pins in the potholder to keep it in a folded position.The potholder should be removed from the handle.You should mark the line where you want to sew with a piece of chalk.
Step 3: Along the pinned edge, sew it.
Remove the pins as you sew along the pinned edge to secure the potholder as a skillet handle cover.To get a good fit for your skillet handle, try not to sew too far away from the pins.The handle cover is ready to use after sewing along the pinned edge.Try it out on a skillet handle.
Step 4: You have to gather your materials.

Step 7: Attach the fabric to the short edge and sew it again.
Lay the insulated fabric and outer fabric flat.The inner and outer fabric should go in opposite directions.The fabrics are similar to the pages of a book.The insulation, seam, and backside of the inner lining fabric should only be seen by you.To flatten the seam, sew along the edge of the inner fabric so that it is facing up.The seam can be flattened by sewing along this edge.
Step 8: If you want to sew, fold the piece in half.
To make the fabric look like a handle cover, fold it over.Pin the edges together and leave a two inch gap in the inner piece.This gap is needed for turning the handle cover inside out.The two inch gap along the long edge of the fabric is where you should sew after pinning.You can either use a square shape or a curving one.Stitching a curved hem may provide a better fit for the handle cover.You can draw a curve with a pen or use a free hand to sew along the edge.You need to sew both ends.
Step 9: If you want to close the gap, turn the piece inside.
The handle cover can be inverted by using the two inch gap in the inner piece.The insulation should be hidden when it is completely inside out.You left a gap in the inner fabric.You can close the gap by sewing across the edge.Don't worry about the raw edges.These will be hidden when you put the inner fabric in the outer fabric.
Step 10: Take the inner fabric and put it in the outer fabric.
All you have to do is tuck the inner fabric into the outer fabric to finish the project.Tuck this material in with your fingers.You can either slide the skillet cover onto your skillet handle or use a pencil to push it in.The project is complete after the inner fabric is hidden.
