All right, all you Weber downdraft experts...power valve...full power valve diaphragm/plunger, Weber 32/36 DGV...32/ 36 Weber Power Valve Questions.
Should they dribble when not in use?Three different power valves have been tried in the quest to get my 32/36 to start properly.Enough to empty the float bowl for several days.
It seems to me that a Weber shouldn't leak at all, and only allow fuel flow when they're mechanically opened. If there's an extra fuel input at all times, that could be a bad problem.
I don't think the power valve on my wife's 32/36 "ibbles" is working. There is a gasket under the power valve. It's just a thought.
I think the only way to create a leak is if air enters the system from the supply side. The bowl stays full if the system is tight.
I had a great time with my 32/36 on the 72.After I sold the car, Matt replaced it with a 38/38.It was a two step deal.Good luck.
I have been looking at my primary throat a lot recently.I have an issue with the choke.I don't think this is the subject of my question, I think it needs adjustment and the linkage freeing up.When I open the throttle, I get a nice mist of fuel at the venturi, but when I'm not running, there are a lot of gobs of it.There was no leak from the secondary's venturi.
Is this the same issue that Mike seemed to have, and is the cause likely to be float level?I have a new BMW mechanical pump and I am assuming that it isn't an over pressure issue, but is that a poor assumption?).
I didn't record what I set the float at when I did the rebuild, so I have been looking over my notes.I would have believed it to be a standard. The posts from CD show a float level of 40mm but the Weber standard puts it at 41mm.I can't remember which one I used.Is this issue caused by 1mm difference?
I would agree with you.We are talking about the difference between spilling over and not so I wonder if it could.I will give the rebuild kit to someone after I have ordered it.
I will pull it and rebuild again.Put the aux venturis in place, flatten the bottom flange with emery cloth and replace the bushings.I can report back when I play with the float.
