All you need to do is go to Tibbetts brook park
The park is located in Westchester County, New York in the Lincoln Park section.One of the first parks in Westchester County was opened in 1927 and serves residents with activities that include swimming, hiking, sports, nature watching and fishing.[2]
To the north, there is the Cross County Parkway, to the west, the Saw Mill River Parkway and the south, McLean Avenue.The park is located north of Van Cortlandt Park along the South County Trailway and south of the Harlem River.
In 1668, Georger Tippett purchased the land from the owner of the large estate that encompassed the Hudson River through the Bronx River and Saw Mill River.After the American Revolution, George's descendants were removed from the land.Their land was sold.The Battle of Kingsbridge took place at the park.The Queen's Rangers were commanded by John Graves, and they fought with other Americans.The Stockbridge Militia consisted of members of the Mahican and Wappinger tribes.The battle ended on August 31.Ninham and other members of the militia died during the battle.Indian Field is now known as Van Cortlandt Park.Four British soldiers were killed and three others were wounded.It was 3, 4 and 5.
The Old Croton Aqueduct runs through the park.New York City was suffering from water-borne disease when the aqueduct was built in the 19th century.The new, improved and higher capacity New Croton Aqueduct was built in 1890.
