An Instant Pot is a pressure cooker that can be used to make many different kinds of food.An Instant Pot may be a good solution for you if you have too much time and effort to cook.
Step 1: All of the parts should be unpack and identified.
Take the items out of the box and put them on a flat surface in front of you.It is possible to identify which parts serve which functions. The box should contain a steamer rack or basket.
Step 2: Put the inner pot in the outer body.
When you take your parts out of the packaging, you may already know where they are.You will need to remove the plastic from the inner pot and put it inside the main body.If you attempt to cook food inside of the outer body without the inner pot, it may cause damage to your Instant Pot.
Step 3: The power cord needs to be attached.
You can connect your Instant Pot to a power source with a long black cord. There should be one end for the electrical sockets.Plug the other end into the edge of the body.
Step 4: Attach the collector to the body
The condensation collector is a small plastic cup that is used to catch condensation that builds up inside a slow cooker. The outside of the pot has a condensation collector on it.
Step 5: The water test is to learn about function.
The water should be put into the inner pot.Turn the pot clockwise to put the lid on it.The cook time can be set by pressing the "Manual" button and "+" or "-" buttons. The floating valve on top of the lid will pop up when steam builds up inside the pot. When the time is up, the screen will display "2," and will continue cooking.Pressing the "Keep Warm/Cancel" button will turn the pot off.
Step 6: Either let the pressure release naturally or manually.
The pressure needs to be released after the pot is turned off.You can switch the pressure valve to its vent position by approaching it from the side.It can take up to 30 minutes for the Instant Pot to release the pressure. It is better to manually release the pressure for some recipes.Allow the pressure to release for foamy foods, food that is heavily liquid, and/or foods with high starch content, such as soups. When cooking vegetables or delicate seafood, use the manual release option.
Step 7: Cook time is determined by your recipe or Instant Pot book.
Different types of food need different amounts of time to be properly prepared. If you follow a particular recipe, cook the food for a certain amount of time.If you didn't get a recipe book for your Instant Pot, you should. To get the information you need, you can go to the Instant Pot website and click on the "Cooking Time" tab.
Step 8: The lid needs to be clean and ready for use.
Make sure that your seal ring is clean and in place. All the way around the underside of the lid should be secured. If the float valve on the underside of the lid is clean, you can easily move it up and down. The steam release handle should be in the sealed position.
Step 9: The food should be placed in the inner pot.
Put everything in the steel inner pot.Place the inner pot into the outer body if it isn't already.
Step 10: Plug the Instant Pot into the lid.
Turn the pot so that it locks when you put the lid on it.The power cord should be plugged into the bottom of the body.Plug the other end into the electrical outlet.
Step 11: If it's necessary, press a pre-set button.
Scan the different pre-set buttons to find the one that best represents the food you are cooking. After pressing the pre-set button, wait 10 seconds and listen for the sound of cooking as it begins. The other pre-set options include soup Meat/Stew Bean/Chili Rice.
Step 12: Use the buttons to change the cook time.
A cook time will pop up on the screen if you push a pre-set button. If this is different than the cook time you want, you can either press the "Adjust" button to jump to different temperatures and their corresponding cook times, or use the buttons "+" or "-" to display the time.
Step 13: Before you open the Instant Pot, make sure it depressurizes.
Once your food is done cooking, your Instant Pot will depressurize and release the steam inside of the pot.The Instant Pot is in warming mode when the screen displays "L0:00."If you need to get to your food before the Instant pot depressurizes, you can switch the steam release valve to either the right or left position. If you want to manually depressurize the Instant Pot, you should use a thick towel to keep the steam out of your hand.
Step 14: Use the freezer to cook meat.
Before you cook your meat in your instant pot, you don't have to thaw it out.It is necessary to make some adjustments if you cook your meat when it is frozen.Put the meat into the inner pot and then pour some of your cooking liquid in to submerge it.The cooking time should be increased by at least 50%.The majority of pressure cooking recipes call for a cooking liquid. You will need to submerge your meat, but they don't call for a lot of liquid. If your recipe says to cook the meat in the pressure cooker for 20 minutes, set the cook time to 30 minutes.
Step 15: You can convert regular pressure cooker recipes to the Instant Pot.
Check the recipe you are using before cooking food in your Instant Pot.The Instant Pot operates at just 11.6 psi, while most regular pressure cooker operate at 15 psi.Add a couple of minutes to the recommended cook time if your recipe states that it is for a regular pressure cooker.
Step 16: If you are at a high altitude, you should pressure cook your food.
The cook times for the Instant Pot are based on sea level. If you are located above sea level, you will need to set your Instant Pot to a higher cook time.If you cook at an altitude of 3,000 feet, you should increase the cook time by 5%.The cook time should be increased by 50% if you cook at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
Step 17: Put the food in the pot.
The ingredients should be placed in the steel inner pot.If it isn't already there, place the inner pot in the outer body.
Step 18: The Instant Pot needs to be plugged in.
Make sure that the other end of the power cord is plugged into the Instant Pot by plugging it into an electrical sockets.Put the lid on the pot and turn it clockwise until it is locked.
Step 19: The steam release handle should be put in the vent position.
The vent must be open all the time for slow cooking. The steam release handle is located on top of the lid and should be turned either to the right or left. The handle should not be turned to the middle position.
Step 20: The cook time can be set with the "Slow Cook" button.
The button labeled Slow Cook is located on the outer body of the Instant Pot.If you want to slow cook your food, use the buttons "+" and "-" to adjust the cook time.
Step 21: To adjust your temperature, press the button.
Pressing the button will change the temperature of the food. You will notice that either Less, Normal, or More will light up when you press it.These are the same as low, medium, and high temperature settings. You can adjust the temperature by pressing the button. The less temperature setting is 221 F, the normal one is 320, and the more is 338.
Step 22: Once the screen reads "L0:00", remove the food from it.
After pressing the "Adjust" button, the Instant Pot will start cooking. When the time is up, the screen on the Instant Pot will say "L0:00", which means that it has finished cooking and is keeping the food warm.Your food is ready to eat once it is in this mode. After 8 hours of being in the warming mode, the Instant Pot will turn off.
