Losing a job is frightening but Illinois offers unemployment benefits to those who have lost their job.During the first week you become unemployed, you can apply online, by phone or at an office.You must recertify your eligibility for benefits every two weeks, up to a maximum of 26 weeks.

Step 1: If you are eligible, check it.
