Pretty much every shower head has the same connection in the United States, 1/2" NPT. As long as you have the shower arm plumbing coming from your ceiling or your wall, you can choose whichever shower head you want and mount your shower head wherever you want.
Can you interchange shower heads?

Are shower head attachments universal?
Showerheads have a universal thread size in the United States and Canada, which is designated as ½-inch NPT. As a result, any locally sold showerhead should be compatible with your shower arm.
Are all Moen Posi Temp valves the same?
Models that have a lever or knob that rotate only are called Posi-Temp. This "cycling valve" handle is pointed towards the 6:00 position when off, rotates to the 3:00 position for cold, 12:00 for warm and 9:00 for full hot. If this is the way your Moen valve operates, any Posi-Temp trim will fit.
