AT&T insurance vs AppleCare+? : apple community
There is a monthly charge to the insurance plan.Technical support coverage and accidental damage are covered by Apple Care.Damage and loss are covered by AT&T's insurance.I think the deductible for the AT&T plan is more than the Apple care fee for accidental damage.
AT&T will still charge you a deductible if they cover warranty issues, but AppleCare+ covers them completely.
They might have to unbox retail phones for you considering how hard it will be to source refurbished parts for a X.
It is not possible to unbox retail phones for a warranty replacement. It is done through a different channel than retail. Most of the time, insurance is handled by a 3rd party.
Retail stores will not unbox inventory and give it to you for any reason except for messing up.
From what I've heard, att and verizon insurance is run by asurion and their refurbs will use their own parts and not be covered by apple.
I think they will send you a new one if it is a brand new product. There is also deductible for AppleCare.
Not covered by apple is not true.I have used carrier insurance before and have never had an issue with taking the device to apple if something goes wrong. If your carrier has a deductible, Applecare+ will not cover lost or thief.
Doesn't cover loss, but my favorite insurance does.I've dropped my 6S a number of times, but nothing has happened with the apple silicone sleeve.
