Hiking and camping can be done in the Blue Mountains. The traditional Blue Mountain trek consists of a 7-mile (11 km) hike to the peak. The hike is usually done in darkness since Jamaicans prefer to reach the peak at sunrise.Cuba can be seen in the distance when the sky is clear.
The coffee is grown on a mountain. The small coffee farming communities of Claverty Cottage and Hagley Gap are located near the peak.
The plants found on the Blue Mountain are often dwarfed and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. The cold climate makes it hard for growth.
