Step 1: The pH meter needs to be turned on.
Before you can use your pH meter, you need to turn it on and allow enough time for the meter to warm up.It should take around 30 minutes, but you should check the operating manual for exact times.
Step 2: It is a good idea to clean your electrode.
Take the electrode out of the storage solution and rinse it under the empty waste beaker.Kimwipes are available at most office supply stores.You should rinse your electrode in a waste beaker that is different from the one you will use for calibrating.It is a good idea to avoid rubbing the electrode.You should consult your operating manual for recommended cleaning solutions if you find the electrode dirty.
Step 3: Take care of your buffers.

Step 4: The buffer should have a pH value of 7.
Once your electrode is placed in the buffer, press the measure or calibrate button to begin reading the pH.Allow the reading to sit for a short time.
Step 5: The pH should be set.
If you have a stable reading, you can set the pH meter to the value of the buffer's pH by pressing the measure button a second time.The stabilization of the reading will allow for more accurate readings.If you stir your buffer before measuring, be sure to stir all of your samples in the same way.
Step 6: You can rinse your electrode with distilled water.
You can rinse and pat dry with a lint-free tissue.
Step 7: Begin reading when you place your electrode in the appropriate buffer.
Once the buffer is placed, press the measure button to begin reading the pH.
Step 8: The pH should be set a second time.
Press the measure button if you want to set the pH meter to the value of the buffer's pH.
Step 9: You need to rinse your electrode.
You can rinse with distilled water.Use a lint-free tissue in between the buffers to dry the electrode.
Step 10: Begin reading when you put your electrode in your sample.
Press the measure button and leave the electrode in your sample for 1-2 minutes.
Step 11: You should set your pH level.
Press the measure button when the reading is stable.This is the level of the sample.
Step 12: After use, clean your electrode.
If you don't have a lint-free tissue, you can rinse your electrode with distilled water.After you clean and dry your pH meter, you can keep it.It's a good idea to consult your operation manual for optimal storage practices.
