Can super glue be used instead of solder?
Is there a way to fix a snapped off port that can be done with soldering or superglue?Would it be safe?
I am going to ask this question because I have no idea but solder is a good conductor.
When replacing a jack on headphones that requires soldering wires to metal, do you still need a conductor??
Super glue is not a good idea. When normal soldering isn't practical, you can buy conductive adhesive. It can come in a variety of styles. When a normal solder job can't be done, it's an option. It can be useful if soldering can't be done normally.
I don't know if I need a conduction agent to make the port stable.
I've been using SILVER EPOXY and loved it.It can do more than solder. We can't say that one is better. There are situations where silver is needed.
There are lots of silver filings in silver epoxy. It is a legendary material. The conductor of electricity is silver.I'm a great combination. In surface mount situations, it's most often used.
It was used to create new wire connections that were lost to a rat that ate the wires down to the plastic nub. It's impossible with solder.I had to make repairs of over $4,000.It takes the heat in stride and is located on the engine. The solder melted and caused me trouble.I got the highest silver containing product because I was worried about the current flow.Let's compare.
I don't have room to list the ways in which it has solder beat in so many ways.
I used it to connect five wires you'll start and run wires on my 600 double r let the super glue sit pull on the wires and it was strong as!&&* stronger than solder for electrical tape around it the bike is working just fine
Some are better than others.soldering is the best option. It is easy for people that have never done it before. Most are scared to try and it won't work. They can't tell what they did wrong because they watch videos and see others doing it.There are secrets in the little details.A good soldering iron head.solder can be prevented from sticking with body oils.It is not optional. Each type has a purpose, and all Flux is not created equal. You have to make it work with what you have. You will fail or damage your device if you have plumbing Flux and silver plumbing solder. There is more soldering done with silver. There is actuality. One needs to take a bit of time and relax. You need to stop and learn more if it doesn't flow and stick. You will make things worse or you will destroy your device if you keep trying.Clean everything, easy job.
There are other options.Glues are going to break.Flex or rigidity is needed to survive normal function.Ausb port is levered in every angle. They break with metallic solder connections.Under certain circumstances, super glue is only super.Liquid electric tape mixed with some fine mesh copper or silver powder could be used for a quick easy fix that will not last but will get you through a day and not make a mess of things permanently. It won't last forever.Maybe not a day.It buys you time.It could be that you do it every night to charge your phone.Do what you have to do.The more you add, the more it will be.The more brittle it will be.This will give a bit of flexibility. When ready for a real repair, it will peel off.
Most of the options are not readily available.3d printer metallic ink could work. You can make your own.The biggest issue is heat.A bad combo is heat and gadgets. There are chemical depositing methods that don't work well.
soldering is the most straight forward solution. There are ways without a solder iron.If it's not working for you because you can't solder on the iron or transfer it, you need to clean it.Something has a heat issue. The solder moves to heat.Cold items won't take solder. It is possible to make your own solder paste. If you have a small pile of solder, you can mix a fraction of it with Flux paste.Enough to make it stick together. You can apple it to where you need, all of which got cleaned and not touched by skin, and you can use a heat gun if you're careful. If there is pressure or force on any other wire or component in the heat, it will be disconnected.Too much heat can cause plastic to melt.Do it right or bring it to a shop if you want to keep it.Can you afford to risk permanently toasting your item if you can't afford it?
It really is not. There is no substitute for soldering. The port will crack when you use it with superglue. The port will fail within a couple of days, but you will lose the traces and solder pads.
I have a power supply port that is mostly plastic.I'm thinking to glue it in place with just a touch of glue.If you will, the glue will make it less prone for this to happen again.
It's important that the glue doesn't stick or melt the plastic. It can happen with plastic and glue.
Check on another area of the port to make sure it doesn't have any negative effects.
2nd solder has a better bond for these applications than superglue.
It isn't going to be moving much, so I was considering it myself.I had solder melting on smart phone batteries without melting the plastic as well.I am thinking of soldering the wires to the pcb instead of supergluing them.Until the battery turned into a pillow, it was a battery pack.I tried a smart phone battery after removing that.Does super glue stop the connection? If I had my rosin nearby, I probably wouldn't think about it.Which I do not.solder will never stick to battery contacts without rosin/flux...
You are looking for something on a clean surface.I once told a customer to leave the lid open.It held for six months so she was happy and it saved her $500.
You can order the screws.Along with the machine's service manual, you have enough of them to do that.
The wires will conduct when connected to the metal in a jack but you need to keep it in place and not move as this can create problems.
Glue provides a high resistance connection which is not what you want for direct electrical connections. As much power as you want. Some of the heat that is lost in the form of heat by poor is not being applied to get where it is needed. The electrical connections have high resistance.
If applied correctly, solder provides a very low, virtually zero resistance connection between the wire and jack terminal.
Lead free solder and even silver solder can be used, but they need higher temperatures when applied.
Where did the face smacking come from? The OP asked a valid and common question. There is no reason to ridicule anyone on here.
Because to clear the superglue out of solder connections during repair it not only complicates the repair, but it creates harmful toxic fumes that I have to breathe.Because of this, superglue has become a personal bane.
Superglue, duct tape, and other temporary fix style solutions end up doing more harm than good, when quality lasting solutions are almost always available with a little research.
RadioShack has a soldering iron that can be used for a charge port.Get that port back on by heating it up.It is easy to get a robust lasting solution with this one.
Quality lasting solutions are almost always available with a little research.He/she didn't come here for a fight.
This is the same answer I have given him.You can't use superglue to fix teeth or make electrical connections.I don't see this as a serious question, but I am often wrong.
Is the lead in the solder more toxic than the super glue fumes? When someone asks, there's a way to say no.
My laptop hinges broke and I had a question about krazy glue.I don't have any replacements for the ones that got lost. Will the glue hold the hinges in place?
Does the male port fit into conduct electricity from any point other than at the connection, where and when the prongs are engaged?
