Yes of course you can mix BJJ and Muay Thai, it's a fine combination regarding the hard striking style and physical conditionning and the grappling finesse of the BJJ, as said in previous comments it's great for MMA, but worthy as well for self defense purpose because you know how to deal with strikings and distance
