I soak over night, drain, rinse, cover with cold water, and pour off the liquid.Add the ham bone and onion cover to the water. All I need for a meal is bread, beans, and a fruit for dessert, because I love these beans.
Toeknee was 66.I would like to show you how we make red cranberry beans.1.The beans should be soaked in water for 12 hours.2.Cook in a pressure cooker on high setting for 20 minutes.3.Add green plantains, about two of them, cut them in small pieces, chopped onions, vegetable or canola, whichever you prefer, and salt.Cook for 5 minutes.4.Bring the pot to a boil for 20 minutes.5.Now!You can add pieces of pork with or without the bone.If you fry the pork on the side in a pan, it will taste better. If you want to add sausages cut in pieces, stir fry them until they are brown.I use a dash of cumin and a packet of sazon goya for seasoning.I hope you enjoy it.

I will cook cranberry beans for the first time in a couple of days.My cajun/creole heritage will probably lead me to cook them as any good Louisianan would red (kidney) beans. You can season according to your taste buds.Add ham hocks, turkey wing or leftover ham pieces. If you live in an area with hard water, add a little extra.Bring baking soda to the boil.If you want beans to be soft, cook them for several hours.I cook everything in a crock pot. That's it!
