Can you use gorilla Glue on plastic?

The base of my basketball hoop that holds the water has a whole in it from when I moved it.I want to know if I can use gorilla glue to patch it.I don't know if it works on plastic.It sounds like it should work.

If you conclude that I can use it, what should I do with the small patch that is almost invisible, since I emptied all the water in my hoop and made it tip over onto my father's car overnight?
