Absolutely! We love seeing what mixing our shades will do and we love seeing multi- colored strands too! For instance, pink goes well with red or purple - but mixing pink with green or teal may end up with some funky brown or grey results, since they cancel each other out as opposites on the color wheel.
Can I add dye to oVertone?
In a nutshell, oVertone is a line of color depositing conditioners made to keep fantasy colored hair bright and bold 24/7, without the typical fading caused by washing, styling, and the like. While the oVertone conditioners are not hair dye, they can be used to deposit color on your colored or natural hair.
How do you get the best results with oVertone?
For even brighter color results, apply oVertone conditioners to clean, dry hair. Make sure you wear an old t-shirt or something you don't mind getting color on. Without water molecules in the way, the hair cuticle can absorb more pigment. More pigment means more color!
Can you leave oVertone on for 30 minutes?
Sticking with the recommended time. After lots of testing and development, we found that 10 to 15 minutes was all the time hair needs to soak up our head-turning colors. Leaving it on longer won't harm your hair since all of our Coloring Conditioners are vegan, cruelty-free, and contain no harsh chemicals.
Can you mix color depositing shampoo?
You can use a color-infused shampoo for each wash (if your color tends to fade quickly) or alternate it with your regular shampoo. You can also use this product either alone or after your regular shampoo. If your hair is oily or fairly dirty, use your regular shampoo to cleanse it first.
Can overtone be mixed with conditioner?
The good news is: it's as easy as mixing equal parts The Remedy with any Coloring Conditioner to dilute to your desired shade.
Can you mix conditioner with arctic fox hair dye?
It will always mix perfectly with any other Arctic Fox color to ensure you get the most consistent results! While you can dilute with conditioner instead, conditioners may contain oils or silicone that can prevent the pigment in the dye from sticking correctly to your hair, causing a patchy or faded result.
Do I need both color depositing shampoo and conditioner?
Colorist and #mydentity brand founder, Guy Tang, adds that they can help your hair look fresh. Now, you don't have to use the color-depositing shampoos and conditioners right after you get your hair colored. Because they have pigments in them, you wouldn't want to have them mess with your fresh dye job.
How many times a week can you use oVertone?
How can I keep my hair as bright as possible using oVertone? For maximum brightness, we recommend using our Daily Conditioner on a regular basis and subbing in the Coloring Conditioner about once a week.
Can oVertone damage your hair?
You can use oVertone as often as you want and it will never damage one hair on your head.
Can you use oVertone more than once?
Mix 2-3 conditioners together to create a shade all your own. Don't go overboard though; mixing too many colors together will give you a murky gray-brown shade (just like when you'd mix all the fingerpaints together as a kid). Some of our more pigmented shades can cause temporary staining after application.
How long can you leave oVertone in your hair?
We recommend that our Daily Conditioners stay in for about 3-5 minutes, and our Coloring Conditioners about 10-15 minutes. If you like to relax with color in your hair, you can leave it in as long as you like no harm will come to your hair. If you'd like to see the brightest results possible, apply to dry hair.
Does heat help oVertone?
The heat opens up the hair cuticle and gives each piece of hair an opportunity to soak up even more color. It's also important to seal the hair cuticle back up especially if you're applying heat. After you use oVertone, try doing another light conditioning treatment.
