Chi Straightener stopped working, how to fix it?

The chi straightener stopped working.I've tried it in a lot of different outlets and the red light doesn't turn on.I don't know what to do because the plug-in part of the straightener does not have a reset button.I don't want to have to buy a new one so I'm hoping it's not broken.

The original model of the CHI straightener does have a reset, but I have another one.The most common problem with CHI straighteners is the long cord.If it's been less than sixty days, most places will let you exchange without a receipt.The warranty with the manufacture should be good if it's been a year.Most of the time CHI will replace the flat iron for less than 30 dollars.You can call the customer service number.The number is 1-800-237-9175.

Plug it in and turn it on.The red light will eventually come on if you play around with the cord a little bit.Try twisting it so that the cord and the actual straightener meet.If you hold the cord in a certain way you can keep your straightener working.If you have no luck, I would just buy a new one.

I took it apart and cleaned it because my chi wouldn't turn on.I cleaned the clear part of the switch where the cord was attatches to make sure there was no grey build up.I used a dry q-tip.There was a bunch of hair stuck in the switch's metal box and I used some tweezers to remove it.It works like new if you put it back together.

My cousin has a similar problem.Make sure the lights are on in the room you're trying to use.Unless the light switch is on, the outlets are not active.

Return it as soon as possible.CHi's do that a lot.The iron is connected to the plug.It shorts out.
