Bronze figurines, statues, and jewelry need to be cleaned every once in a while, especially if a statue has been outside or a piece of jewelry is regularly worn. Some of the best bronze cleaners are household ingredients.Cleaning bronze can take a long time. You can get your bronze looking clean and pristine by using boiling water, lemon juice, salt, flour, or a combination of these.
Step 1: In a bowl, mix 23 cup of flour and white vinegar.
A big bowl is enough to allow you to mix the two ingredients together.Once they are mixed together, blend them.
Step 2: Add 12 cup of salt to your mixture.
The mixture should now be a paste.
Step 3: Place the paste on the bronze.
You can put a glove on your hand and paste it onto your bronze piece. You can use a sponge. If you have a small piece of jewelry, place it in the bowl.Your item should be completely covered in the paste.Leave the paste on for 1-2 hours.
Step 4: Warm water is what you should use to rinse your bronze.
Bring your item to the sink and rinse it under warm water after 1-2 hours. If your item is large and can't be moved, bring a pot or bucket of warm water to it and pour the water over it to rinse the paste off completely.
Step 5: To dry the bronze, use a soft cloth.
While you are drying the bronze, rub it with a cloth to remove marks. It needs to be completely dry and the paste removed.
Step 6: Rub the oil on the bronze.
Add a few drops of olive oil to a soft clean cloth and rub it over the bronze.Since ancient times, olive oil has been used to clean and protect bronze.
Step 7: Put your item in the boiling water on the stove.
If you have a bronze item, choose a pot that is big enough to hold it.Bring the water to a boil and place your bronze inside the pot.Leave it in the pot for a while and it will be hot.If your item is too large to fit in a pot of boiling water, consider using a different method to clean it.
Step 8: Carefully remove the item from the pot.
To grab the item from the hot water, use tongs or a strainer.Put the strainer in the sink and pour the water from the pot into it.If your bronze item is delicate, be careful not to let it fall into the strainer.
Step 9: The flannel cloth should be dipped in water and soap.
The flannel cloth should be sudsy.Pick up the warm bronze item and rub it with the cloth.Take care to remove any marks or stains.Natural soap can be used.If you want to use alkaline soaps, make sure they don't have sodium hydroxide as an ingredient. If your bronze is lacquered, don't use detergents that havephosphates, such as Tide, or solutions made of ammonia. The coating on your bronze can degrade. If the bronze is still very hot, be careful not to burn yourself. The cloth can be used as a barrier.
Step 10: Dry the bronze with a cloth.
Chamois leather is tanned using natural oils.It will not damage your bronze as you dry it.
Step 11: Place your item in a container.
If you want to avoid a mess, use a sponge, your hand, or a bowl full of Ketchup to apply the sauce to the bronze. It should be covered in Ketchup for 15 minutes. After rinsing it with warm water, it should be dry with a soft cloth.
Step 12: Lemon juice can be applied to your bronze item.
You can either soak it in lemon juice or squirt it onto it.Remove the item, rinse it, and then dry it with a soft cloth.
Step 13: Prepare your item by soaking it in water and white vinegar.
You can soak your item in the solution overnight by pouring equal portions of white and water into a large bowl. After the next morning, wash your item with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. This method will be more difficult if you have a statue. If you don't have a bowl large enough to fit the statue inside, try a different method of cleaning.
