Filou is 14 years old now.She almost lost me to cancer a few years ago and wouldn't leave my side while I was sick, but she's been through a lot with me.She has welcomed three rescue dogs into our lives over the last few years, despite missing being my only dog.She can still sprint on walks despite her failing back legs because she bounces around like Tigger. She stumbles around a lot now.She can't hold for the toilet as well and I now carry her upstairs most days but she's doing ok for now as long as I anticipate her moves!I will never know how she has survived this long. She memorised the location of several km back on a walk and annoyed a lot of picnickers by stealing sandwiches.I think she is magic. My longest serving roommate is my biggest commitment. My first dog is a good friend.I don't know how long I have my dog for, but I'm enjoying every moment.
Sally is an American cocker spaniel who is 15 years old and will be 16 in October 2021. She is on medication but still likes a walk, loves a cuddle and is the best companion ever.Sally still likes her own time, despite the fact that we recently got a border collie pup.
Winnie was 15 years old when she left us.She was the best dog we had.She was fond of everyone. The grandchildren were always followed.I enjoy bird hunting for pheasant and partridge. She liked eating watermelon and chasing bubbles. She had arthritis and was almost blind. Her breathing was labored, she was difficult to walk up and down stairs, and she walked in circles. It's bumping into things. She took her arthritis medicine in a bowl of dog food.On the ride to the vets, I held her head.It was the hardest decision we had to make.It was her time. She is running in green fields with her sister who passed last week. She is etched into our lives because she was loved so much.Thank you Winnie for 15 wonderful years.
My Cocker spaniel was surrendered from a very neglectful situation and we adopted him five years ago.He never leaves my side and is my best friend. He is slowing down, sleeping more and his muscles look better than they have before.I am wondering if this is normal for aging cockers.I am curious if it is common, he has a vet appt.
Eddie was adopted deafness, but Junior is my 3rd English Cocker.RC is really cute.Junior is young. We give eyedrops at least a dozen times a day because his eyes became dry when he was 11.It is routine! His hearing is not what it used to be.Eddie and RC died of heart failure.Junior was moving around in a confused way this week.My teenagers have lost a family member for the first time.My brother Brandy and I were there at their age.As I grew up, Brandy was with me.Years ago, Brandy, I remember clear. Some of you can remember the times when you weren't sure if you should go through another pet after the loss. Our Brandy was the smartest dog my Mom had ever owned. He could keep talking, I swear. The movie Beethoven is the same as him.
Junior is there. He had a good nap after I put gel packs on his ribs.Baron is 5 years old.Baron told me how he was approaching Junior.

Alidzja and Anna were adopted by me about 8 years ago.I am familiar with the breed and have never owned a cockers before. At first sight, I fell in love with them. Both had been raised together.Anna was overweight when she was 7 to 10 years old.She loved her cats and everyone. We tried to keep her weight the same. She would eat more if we had let her.During her 48 hour excursion, she lost a part of her toe, nail and footpad and it became infectious.I had to put her to sleep because the infection had spread so quickly after she got sick. There were other underlying issues.Anna passed away on June 23rd.I miss her and it broke my heart.Alidzja stops at the same spot every time we go for a walk and stares off into the distance, maybe she is seeing Anna.I am sure Alidzja misses her best friend.I was with Anna when she was 16 years old.Alidzja is a cocker spaniel. She hasn't been herself as of late. The last couple of days have been difficult.I am very worried because she hasn't been eating, drinking or going out for her potty runs.I haven't heard from the vets yet as to the situation with her well being.I am praying that she is going to be okay.It is time for her to go home and reconcile with Anna. When it is her time and the good lord takes her home, it will hurt and leave another empty space.I will miss her a lot. Will see them again when I get the call to go home. There are other dogs just like them out there who need homes and caring families.I can be there for at least 2 more.
When I brought my Cocker to the vet to find out if she has a chip, he estimated she was between 3 and 6 years old.Since her chip was not registered, I adopted her.She didn't want to give up her life even though she was having blood in the urine and pale gum.She was either 16 or 19 years old when she was put to sleep by the vet.On Nov 30, 2016, Wander became an angel. She was the best cocker spaniel.

My dog.On July 2, 2020, the American Cocker Spaniel will be 18 years old.She is my only dog. When we saw each other at the Oldies But Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue event, we instantly became friends.I was unaware of the depth of a dog's love for a cat.Sassie is the love of my life, and as we negotiate her ancient journey, we will complete a long bucket list of things to do.I wish I had been a better mom.She is perfect. We want to break the Guinness world record for long lived cockers.I wish you could have a dog like my Sassinka.

On June 19, 2020, our American Cocker turned 18.She is good for long walks once she loosens up, but it takes a little effort to get going after she snoozes. She likes fruit, vegetables and almonds, but is picky about what she eats. She has poor hearing except for some words like treat and car ride.We expect her to be around for a while because of her eye sight and vitals.I think she is one of the oldest American Cockers still alive, but I have not found conclusive proof of that.
The treasure of our life was our precious Corky. He died on December 2, 2019.He was younger than 15 years old.It makes sense that he had an enlarged heart. We had a cocker named Mickey who lived to 14.Our two cockers have been with us for almost 30 years. We look forward to seeing you soon.
