Coolant in spark plug holes is a topic on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts' forums.
Is there a place where Pink Coolant is leaking and filling up a spark plug in a 2005 Ford Focus?Could it be a valve cover gasket? Is that something elese? There is rust in the cylinder head. Can it cause a serious problem?
I don't know where the core plugs are on the Focus, but I remember on my old Puma, these were between the spark plugs and had a tendency to leak.
They are not likely to be tightened so it's best to remove and replace. You may have to get the local garage to do it, as they can be a real mare.
Are you sure about its cooling system? There are problems with the washers leaking and allowing rain water in.

I know about the water jet issue and have made an engine cover, but it's not the washer jet leak that worries me.

There are core plugs between the spark plugs.I think there is something between the two plugs on each side that is rusty and has more water on it.

A round silver bolt/screw is about an inch in diameter and has a hexagonal hole in the top for a large allen key to fit into.
As stupid as it sounds, pour a bit of coca cola onto a sponge and leave it to sit over the rusty bit for a while, then wipe off and pour cola straight onto it, that should loosen it up, and take off enough rust to give you more of an idea as
I don't know about the plug holes, but I hope it's not too serious, a case of a clumsly last owner who stood a bottle of coolant on the engine block and it spilled onto the head and drained into the plugs?

What can you do with Coca Cola?It makes you wonder what it does to your insides.
I have a 1.6lx that had the same problem, it was the core plugs that were corroded, they cost 87p each from Ford and took a garage to 2 hours to fix, I replaced my ht leads and spark plugs and blasted the car on the motorway problem fixed.
Where is the pink stuff coming from?Shouldn't it be leaking engine oil from the core plugs, not the coolant?

I assumed the comments were about water getting into the spark plug wells.
I had a garage replace the spark plugs a couple of weeks ago and was fine until the engine light came on again last night and I pulled out the HT leads.
The first garage I took it to snapped a spark plug in the engine block, which ended up costing me a lot, it was the third time I had this problem.
I will check the oil cap on my lunch break because I have noticed a drop in the coolant level.

The plugs used to seal the holes are not related to the lubrication system.

There is a picture of an oil cap.If it just had the oil changed and it was pink.
If you own a 1.6 petrol focus car, make sure the washer jets are sealed under the bonnet with a Silicone sealant.
