Step 1: Wet the hair
Warm water is needed to fill a spray bottle.Your hair should be damp with the warm mist.Carefully remove snarls and knots from the locks with a fine tooth comb. There is a spray bottle nearby.Re-wet the hair as it dries.
Step 2: Part of the hair
The hair goes from the top of the forehead to the base of a skull. The hair should be at the top of the ears and the base of them. The top box, 2 side sections, and 1 section at the base of your skull are what this will create.Attach the section with a large hair clip. The right sections should be even with the left sections. If the hair is thicker, divide it into 7 sections: top, right, left, crown, nape, and a 12 inch band of loose hair at the hairline. The hair should be parted in a straight line from one ear to the other. You can make a part on each side of the head along the parietal ridge. You can section off the hair on the top of the head with this.Attach the hair to the top of the head with a clip.Straighten the hair on the left and right sides of the head. The hair goes down the center of the crown. To separate the left and right crown sections, part the hair from behind the ear to the center part.Pull the two sections.Cut the hair at the nape of the neck into a left and a right section. At a time, clip each section.A 12 inch section of hair should be removed.
Step 3: The first travel guide.
Remove the bottom section.Take a small piece of hair from your bottom section. The first traveling guide will be this segment. The most recently cut segment of hair in a section assumes the role of the traveling guide. It is used as a ruler when held up to the next segment of hair.Determine how long the bottom layer is.The shorter the hair, the smaller the difference in the layers should be.2 to 4 inches on long hair and 1/2 an inch to 1 inch on shorter hair are the thicknesses of the layers. The segment should be between the middle finger of your non-dominant hand.Pull the segment at a 90 angle until your fingers reach your desired hair length. The hair should be trimmed with a pair of shears. You can always go shorter if you cut between 12 inch and 2 inches off.
Step 4: Cut the section in half.
Measure the length of the next segment using the most recently cut segment of hair. The next segment of hair should be between your middle and forefinger.Pull the hair at a 90 angle until you reach the end of the guide. The new hair should be the same length as the traveling guide. The travelling guide is the freshly cut segment.Continue until the entire section is cut. It's a good idea to check the evenness of your trim. The evenness of the cut can be checked by pulling the hair in multiple directions. Before moving onto the next section of hair, make sure the pieces are even.
Step 5: Determine the length of the second layer.
Let the left section go and hang over the bottom layer. To determine how much hair to trim off the second layer, use the bottom layer as a guide. The bottom and middle layers can be different in length and width.
Step 6: The left segment should be cut.
If you have a small segment of hair at the front left side, you can use it as a guide. The hair should be pulled straight at a 90 angle. You can cut off the ends of the hair with your fingers. The hair needs to be trimmed. The traveling guide can help cut the rest of the section.
Step 7: Take the right section.
Cut the right section.Take a small piece of hair from the left side and right side of your travelling guide.Pull the segments between your middle and forefinger at a 90 angle. At the end of the left segment, stop your fingers. The hair should be trimmed from the right segment. The traveling guide can help cut the rest of the section.
Step 8: The length of the top layer should be determined.
Let the top section hang over the middle layer. You can use the layers below to figure out the length of your top layer. The middle and top layers may be different in length.
Step 9: The top section has to be cut.
Take a small piece of hair from the top of the forehead. The hair should be pulled straight at a 90 angle. You can cut off the ends of the hair with your fingers. The hair needs to be trimmed. The traveling guide can help cut the rest of the section.
Step 10: Clean, wet hair.
You should wash and condition the hair before you cut it.You can squeeze the excess water from the tresses by grabbing a towel. All the snarls and snags can be removed with a comb through.Warm water is needed to fill a spray bottle. The spray bottle has water in it.
Step 11: Cut the guide.
You will use a stationary guide to measure against every segment of hair during the haircut.shaggy layers will be produced throughout your hair. There is a small segment of hair at the top of the head.Keep in mind that the shortest layer is the stationary guide. The stationary guide should be between the middle and forefinger of your non-dominant hand.Pull the segment straight up at a 180 angle by sliding the fingers towards the ends. When you reach the desired length, stop your fingers.Remove excess hair with shears.Start slowly instead of cutting off too much hair.Remove 1 to 2 inches of hair from the stationary guide. If your hair is too long, take another inch off of the guide and cut it again.
Step 12: The hair around you should be cut.
At the front of the head, place a segment of hair around the stationary guide and between your middle and forefinger.Pull the hair at a 180 angle until you reach the length of the stationary guide. The hair needs to be trimmed. To back down the center of the head, repeat this process.
Step 13: The sides must be cut.
Cut segments on the left side and right side to produce even layers. There is a stationary guide between your middle and forefinger.Pull the hair at a 180 angle until you reach the length of the stationary guide. The hair needs to be trimmed.Continue until all of the hair is cut.
Step 14: Dry hair can have knots.
Start with clean hair.Make the hair smooth by brushing it.Make sure to remove any snarls or knots.
Step 15: Make sure the hair is in a ponytail.
The hair should be brushed towards the forehead.Take the hair out of the ponytail and put it on the forehead.Attach it tightly with a rubber band.If you are cutting a client's hair, put them in a chair.bend at your waist if you are cutting your own hair.Imagine turning your hair into a horn. The ponytail should be in the same place as the horn.
Step 16: The rubber band needs to be positioned near the ponytail.
The rubber band should be slid towards the ends of the hair. You should stop at the ends of the hair.It is always better to cut a little bit off at a time if you want to adjust the rubber band to the desired length.Stand at your waist if you are cutting your own hair.
Step 17: The hair has to be cut.
Place your non-dominant hand over the rubberband.Cut below the rubber band with a pair of shears.Cut off the hair you don't like.If you want to cut off more hair, repeat the process. If you are cutting your own hair, stand straight up and don't move your hand or hair.
