A fishtail braid is a great way to style long hair.Do you prefer a different way to style your hair?A fishtail side braid can give any outfit a soft, fun, yet elegant look.
Step 1: Part the hair.
Make a small part on one side of the hair and then comb it towards the other side.To get the rest of the hair to the shoulder, put it opposite the part. The hair should be over the left shoulder if your part is on the right side.
Step 2: The hair should be divided into two parts.
Pull the hair out of both of your hands.Make sure the sections are neat and there are no hairs between them.
Step 3: Start with the fishtail braid.
The fishtail braid begins when you hold your hair on the side of your head with both hands.A third strand of hair can be added from the edge of one of the outside strands. The third strand should be crossed over to the other strand. The third strand is now part of the other section. You should have two more sections. This step is repeated with the other strand.A third strand can be created by taking a small section of hair from the edge of a different section. The inside of the first strand should be crossed over. The first section now includes the third strand. You have two more sections.Pull the strands away from each other.
Step 4: Continue to grow your hair.
Cross a small section of hair from the outside to the inside of the other strands as you did in Step 3.After completing each level, make sure to tighten. The fishtail braids look like an inverted braid. The fishtail shape is given by only two strands being woven together.
Step 5: The braid needs to be loosened.
Fishtail braids are often worn in a messy way.To achieve a messy look, lightly pull the sides of the braid to loosen them.Place a hair band around your hair after you sweep it over your shoulder if you are having trouble doing this braid yourself. It should be a ponytail. To complete the braid, follow the instructions.Use a pair of scissors to cut the hair band.It will give you the same look as if you braided it.Remove the hair band and loosen the braid.
Step 6: Finished.
Step 7: Part of the hair.
The hair should be given a deep side part. You want the hair to hang over the part that is on the side of the head.If you want your hair to be over your right shoulder, part it on the left. The part should stop at the crown. It shouldn't go all the way down the back of your head.
Step 8: There is hair near the part.
Take a small triangular section of hair and separate it from the rest. This should be divided into three parts. The side braid should be on the side of the part where the hair is gathered.
Step 9: Start French braiding.
Take the strands and braid them.Cross the middle section if you take one of the outer sections.Cross the strand over the middle section of the outer section. The beginning anchor braid will be given by this.As you begin each level, add a small section of hair. You can add hair from around your ear to the front and back.Don't put hair in the back of your head. When you get to the ear, tie the braid off with a hair band.
Step 10: The hair should be swept over the shoulder.
Pull the hair over the shoulder you want the braid to hang down. It's time to put your hair in one place. You can give the style a softer, messier look by pulling hair out of your face.
Step 11: The braid should begin with the fishtail.
The hair should be divided into two parts.Take a section of hair from the back of the right side and combine it with the left side.Cross a section of hair from the back of the left side to the right side.Continue braiding until you reach the end of your hair. After each level is complete, pull tight.Hold the two strands apart and keep them tight. When you cross the new sections of hair, don't keep them separate. When you start a new level on the braid, you should have two separate sections.
Step 12: Don't let your hair fall out with a hair band.
When you get to the end, place an elastic around it.To loosen the braid, tug on it.The fishtail braid can be ended at the end of your hair. The braid can be finished at any length you want.
Step 13: It was finished.
Step 14: Take the hair.
There is a ponytail in the back.Attach a hair band to the nape of the neck. You should use a hair band if you want to cut it.
Step 15: Start with the fishtail braid.
The hair should be divided into two even sections.Pull a small section of hair from the right strand and combine it with the left strand.Cross over the left section of hair to the right strand.Pull tight once you have finished a level of the braid. As you braid along the ponytail, repeat this method. The smaller strands should be in the two main sections. As you braid, don't have many smaller sections. It is possible to start the braid at the top of the head. You don't need an elastic if you start at the top of the head. You will have two sections of hair.Sections of hair should be added as you braid towards the nape of your neck.If you are trying to braid yourself, you may need someone's help.
Step 16: The look needs to be finished.
Attach a hair band to the bottom of the braid.Cut the elastic from your hair with a pair of scissors.Pull the braid apart by tugging on the plait. To complete the look, drape the braid over one shoulder. If you comb your hair to one side, you can divide it into 4 pieces.Take the outer piece from the side you want the braid to be on and cross it over to the other side. You cross the outer piece from the other side over the previous one.Continue this pattern until you reach about a half inch from the bottom, and tie it off with an elastic or ponytail holder.
