You do not need a computer or WIFI for SimpliSafe to work for your basic home security needs. However, WIFI and access to the SimpliSafe app through either Google Play Store or the App Store for iOS users is required for the SimpliCam or Video Doorbell Pro.

The Gen 3 SimpliSafe base station has a built-in cellular module to provide an extra layer of protection for your security system. If your home WiFi network goes down or the power is cut, your security system can still communicate with the Monitoring Center through its cellular connection.
How does SimpliSafe connect to cellular?
For Original SimpliSafe systems, cellular connection is the only way your security system can communicate with the Monitoring Center. For The Gen 3 SimpliSafe systems, your base station uses WiFi to connect to the Monitoring Center.
Can I use SimpliSafe without WiFi?
