How much does UHaul put on hold?
If you're paying in stacks of Benjamins (or Washingtons), you'll need to put down a $100 security deposit for your rental truck and/or $75 on any trailer or towing equipment at the time of pick-up. (You'll get that security deposit back when you return everything to U-Haul.)2021-05-24

No. While you do need a card on file to reserve online or by phone, you can reserve in person with cash. However, cash payments require a deposit — $100 for in-town rentals (or the estimated charges, whichever is greater) and $100 plus the rental rate for one-way moves.2021-03-18
