Tegaderm Alginate AG Silver Dressing is a sterile, absorbent, non woven antimicrobial dressing composed of a high G (guluronic acid) calcium alginate,CMC, and an ionic silver complex.
As wound exudate is absorbed, the alginate forms a gel, which aids autolytic debridement, whilst maintaining a moist environment for optimal wound healing.Without damage to healing tissue, the gel ensures intact removal.
The silver ion released in the presence of wound exudate is an effective antimicrobial agent that can be used for up to 14 days.As a result of its antimicrobial properties, it can reduce the smell of wounds.
