FixyaWhirlpool Duet Washing Machine Error Codes - Fault Code Definitions.
The article explains how to fix the error code without calling an appliance repair technician.
The F02 error code can be repaired without ordering parts. The whirlpool Duet F02 error code can be repaired with towels and a quarter inch sockets.
The washer should be tipped back at a 45 degree angle. There are three or four screws on the bottom panel, with the screws removed the panel will slide down and off.You will have access to the washers drain pump when the lower access panel is removed.
You can remove the filter head if the water is already out of the washer. The counter-clockwise movement of the filter head will loosen it.
To make sure the washer is back up and running, run a quick cycle. You may have to clean the drain pump filter again if the error comes back.

Thank you!Thank you so much!Your instructions saved me a lot of time.Your instructions were easy to understand.
This worked great for me.The pins that were sticking through the holes were the culprit for me.Thank you so much!
You are most welcome.Glad you found it helpful. You took the time to comment.
I wanted to add Thank You's to the list. The most common culprit is socks.I was glad I didn't have to pay a repair man as I am a mom to four crazy boys.Thank you!!
You are most welcome.Happy to help.Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.I appreciate it.Glad your family is back up and running.Good work.
I used a wet vac to try and get out anything that might have been in the hose, it ran the entire cycle until the last drain and an f02 error appeared.Has checked the drain tube from the washer to the house and tells me that it is not the pump.Help?!
Sounds like the pump is overheating. That is the most common issue on these machines. The pump does not run at the end of the cycle because it is overheated. You can use a multimeter to verify that. You can test this if you are very handy.
Thanks for saving the cost of a repair. There are piles of lint and baby socks. It works like a champ again.Thank you!!
You are most welcome.Happy to help. The F02 error code post was useful. You took the time to comment.
The washer was bought a few months ago and had some issues with it.
Thank you so much! The culprit was a lot of lint and socks. It was almost unbearable when I took it out and it must have been there for a long time.It is a quieter sound when the washer is in use.
Thank you so much, Matt!I was in a bad situation. When my husband was away, I found my machine flashing the F02 code.I searched for it and found your advice here.I was frustrated when I got the 3 screws out.For those of you who have 7mm screws, please be aware.Excellent to know!I removed the filter head after removing the panel.I was about to replace it when I realized there was a small hose coming in from the right side. There was a very thin scrap of cloth, about 1 x 8′′, balled up in there after I stuck my finger in it.Voila! It ran again after I replaced everything. That was a lot of getting up and down off the floor for this tired old gal, but I was so happy to have been able to take care of it and get the laundry done.
Awesome!Glad you found it useful!Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment.I'm happy to help as many people as I can.
If I offered a phone call service, would you use it?You could talk to an appliance technician within an hour. What thoughts do visitors have on that?
If I had a question about something I didn't understand it would be great. It's less than a service call. Thanks again.
Thanks for that.It worked out great.Total fix and easy.I have never cleaned anything like that in my life.I am a vet and I have seen some pretty disgusting things.
You are most welcome. The pumps can get pretty nasty. The washing machine is working again.Good work.
Your instructions were perfect and my problem has been fixed. The smell from the trap lingered for hours and the water that was spilled was horrible. This was both helpful and gag worthy. Thanks for your help.
This solved the problem.Thank you.Coins, ballpoint pen parts, shirt collar stays, and a battery caused the clog. Before you start the process, make sure you have screwdrivers.A cinder block was used to hold the machine.
It was an easy project.I had a baby wash cloth and three socks.Immediately after, I ran my washer machine.Thank you so much!
A good trouble shooting guide.Thank you so much for saving us a service call. The junk...pennies, screws, buttons...who knew?
It worked out well.A pencil, ankle socks, and gunk were plugged in the drain.Thanks.
Thank you so much!We were happy to find this. There is a family of 5 and they have been using it for 12 years. After this quick fix, working like new.
Thank you so much.We followed your instructions and used the shop vac with the crevice tool at the drain pump cleanout. The water wouldn't leak to a minimum. It requires patience, but it's worth it!
Matthew, first of all, thank you for your easy to follow informative blog! The backing of my bath rugs fell apart when I washed them.I cleared the drain, it was full of backing.I put it back in, ran the washer and it stopped midway, the drum doesn't seem to be moving, but I can manually move it.Is there any advice?
I did not tilt the machine.I squatted.I used a t-20 screwdriver to take the screws out. There was an ink pen, in pieces, a hearing aid battery, rusted safety pin, and a whole lot of gunk holding it all together.Business is nasty. When it got to the rinse cycle again with the F02 error, it made a rattling noise.I did the procedure again. This time, I used a towel and pan to catch water.I stuck my finger in the hose that goes to the pump to see if there was anything in it, and then I turned on the plastic thing that was in there. If I didn't see it, I might have loosened something that made it work like a charm. To make sure the pump is not overheating, run it through another cycle.Thank you so much.I was saved so much in money.
Is it a good idea to stack your washer and dryer?I will not be able to do that because it says to tip it back.
We bought a new pump motor after we cleaned the drain filter and got the error.Any other suggestions?
Wow!I would like to thank you a million times.3 pairs of underwear were stuck in mine. How does that happen?
You are most welcome. It is a common issue. You probably don't want to hear it, but it's from overloading the machine.
Thank you so much.Half the problem is knowing what the code is and what you have to do to fix it.
The instructions were easy to follow.Thank you! Some small rocks and 3 shirt collar points were found when I cleaned out the filter. The pump isn't draining and making a sound when we try a rinse/spin cycle, but we're not sure if these items damaged the impellers. The impellers may have been damaged by the debris.Do we need to replace the entire pump or just the impellers?
Thank you so much!My Duet is young.I thought it was over. You should read and follow your instructions. We did not have to tilt the machine. There was a piece of plastic and an insert of a female garment in the Filter. The washer is as good as new.
This is a simple step by step.I have no idea about this stuff, but with your guidance it was easy. Thanks again!!
Two weeks ago, my whirlpool duet front loader started giving me an error code.I cleaned out the drain trap and made sure the hoses were clean.I replaced the drain pump because I thought it would solve my Delma. When the machine goes from wash to drain, there is an error code. The water stater stops when I hear it.When I put it to drain and spin it doesn't have any issues, can you give me any advice on what to look for?I don't want to call in a repair guy if I can do the work myself.
