The "slumber" part of the slumber party can be forgotten. You may look forward to having fun with your friends, but you may be too shy to say you really want to take a break. It is not fun to feel cranky and sleep deprived in the morning.A slumber party can be fun and full of good sleep if you remember some comfort and relaxation tips.
Step 1: Bring comfort items to the house.
You can bring items from home.Maybe you have a journal that you like to write in.If you're scared of the dark, you may want to bring a flashlight. These items will help you relax and feel at home.
Step 2: Make sure the lights are on.
The party should have lights out in advance. It will reduce whining and rebellion if everyone knows what to expect at night. You can handle a later lights out time if you're over 10 years old.
Step 3: Ear plugs are a must.
If you're not used to sleeping with ear plugs, practice them. When you want to go to sleep, put your ear plugs in.
Step 4: Plan to sleep.
It is not expected to do a lot of bright and early activities. The activities from the slumber party will need a lot of rest if everyone gets to sleep on time. It's even better if you tell your parents to pick you up before 10:00 a.m.If it is a nice day, get dressed, have breakfast, and play outside.Play with dolls or action figures in the morning. You can take a nap after you get home.
Step 5: Enjoy healthy snacks.
If the slumber party is for a birthday, eat cake, but remember that sugar will keep you up.Don't eat things like white bread, candy bars or french fries if you want to keep your belly full at the party. Those things will make it harder to sleep.Apples and peanut butter are healthy snacks. There are pretzels. There is a log filled with bugs that are covered in peanut butter.Miniature pizzas made from wheat. You can add sausage, mushrooms, or peppers.
Step 6: Don't drink soft drinks or other drinks that have a lot of sugar.
Coffee and soda are not allowed at slumber parties. You will be happy to be spending the night with your friends.Don't drink soda because it will create energy overload. It's better to drink water and juice.
Step 7: You can have fun outside of the house.
Group activities like bowling, ice skating or go-kart racing will burn off energy. When they get home, a big outing will help wear everyone out.It will keep your friends from messing up your home all night if you host the party.
Step 8: Paint fingernails and give pedicures.
It is an easy activity to do at the end of the evening. It's fun and won't interfere with sleep, like a pillow fight or dancing would.Everyone's eyes will be tired if they focus on painting fingers and toes.
Step 9: There are arts and crafts.
Quiet and focused art and craft activities are possible. You will have something to bring home after that.Bracelets are made out of thread and beads. The solar system can be made out of balloons and paper.Minirobots can be made out of things like batteries, a small motor and wires.
Step 10: You can watch a movie at night.
A good way to end the party is to watch a movie.Your friends may be tired by then.Try to avoid comedies that cause a lot of giggling or screaming.
Step 11: Don't allow pets to sleep with you.
Pets get scared when a lot of people are around, and they can distract you from sleeping.Don't sleep with any dogs or cats if you play with Fluffy throughout the evening. The family dog will be uncomfortable sleeping with people and will move around a lot.
Step 12: Tell an adult what scares you.
The parent should look over the party if you are afraid of the dark. They can keep a nightlight or hallway light on for you.Don't be too shy to tell an adult if you feel uncomfortable sleeping away from home.It will take some comforting words to make you feel better about sleeping.
Step 13: Have a routine for sleeping.
The time to change into pajamas, brush teeth and wash your face is about 30 minutes before bed.A routine at night will signal to the brain that it is time to sleep. It will make you feel better to stick to a routine at home.
Step 14: Sleeping bags are arranged in a shape.
No one can argue about who sleeps by whom if everyone heads towards the center of the starburst.Everyone will be close to each other, and that will make you feel safe.
Step 15: It's better to sleep in a different room.
The party may continue even after the lights out.Pick up your sleeping bag and go to a spare room if you're tired. You don't want your friends to stop playing games or telling stories if you tell them you're sleepy. It's not bad to go into a different room.Your friends will respect you.
