Who to call when dogs are being mistreated?
Reporting abuse. If you witness suspected cruelty to animals, call your local animal control agency as soon as possible or dial 9-1-1 if you're unfamiliar with local organizations. If you make a report of alleged animal cruelty, the responding agency is required to investigate.

Does the BC SPCA euthanize animals?
The BC SPCA does not euthanize healthy companion animals entering our shelters. Most animals are treatable. We do not place a time limit on how long an adoptable animal can stay in one of our shelters. However, our goal is always to get animals into homes as soon as possible.
