How do I connect my Redlink thermostat?Honeywell has a Total Connect Comfort on the App Store.
The Total Connect Comfort app allows users to remotely monitor and manage their heating and cooling system.Users of the Total Connect Comfort app can view and change the schedule of their thermostats that support this feature.
After the original failed, I replaced it with this one.I bought the company because of its reputation and reviews. It works, but I am a little disappointed. The thermostat doesn't update the indoor temp often enough so it gets cold in the house before the furnace is turned on, and then it overruns the set temperature, which causes it to get too hot inside.I returned it because I thought it was a problem with the unit.No difference.Someone overseas told me how to fix the problem after I called the support number. The unit doesn't have a function to give me daily run times. It is easy to set up and the display is readable.I would give this unit 5 stars if it worked correctly and gave me an idea of how much the furnace runs on a given day.The unit has settled in as far as holding temp goes, and I like the feature where it anticipates the heat time needed to meet the temp setting at a given time.We reduce the house temp to 60 degrees in the winter. The time needed to meet the warm up time in the morning is calculated by the unit when it senses temp drop during the night. There is no function to view actual run times.
A builder installed a Honeywell thermostat on our hi-efficiency gas furnace/AC unit after we purchased a smart home color thermostat. The original thermostat worked well, but the display was too small to comfortably read and the programming was difficult. The new thermostat has a large color display. After a few days of use, the app seems to work well. The outside temperature reading doesn't seem to update very often, and the displayed outdoor temperature rarely is close to three remote reading thermometers we have in our home. The thermostat has no choice of temperature differential settings, and the furnace cycles more often than it did with the previous system.I have set the conventional setting to the hi-efficiency setting. The unit didn't cycle so often because it would be my choice to have a couple of degrees differential between on and off.I will be contacting my supplier to find out if there are any adverse effects from the more frequent cycling.I am about 3 months from using the AC part of my system, so may add to this review at a later date. This really need a differential choice.
A new Carrier high efficiency furnace was installed in our vacation cottage. After installing it, I discovered it didn't have a battery backup.Since it's a vacation home, I want the thermostat to remember the settings because I'm only there if the power goes out frequently. When I couldn't find anything about a backup system, I turned the furnace off and reassembled.I had a preset heat setting on the thermostat, but it went to a much higher setting. The thermostat came off the wall and went back to the store.I tried a cheap one.It was difficult to set up, I couldn't get it to connect, and I had to go down to 42 because it was too cold in the winter. They went back as well after one came off the wall.I bought the RTH9585.It stores settings in permanent memory, not just limited battery back up, which is great because sometimes power is out for several hours, and no batteries to change. It was easy to set up and connect, the app has worked perfectly.I like it so far.I am getting a $50 rebate from the electric company for installing it.
