How do I find my security token or reset it in a way that makes sense to me?

Your security token is a case-sensitive key that is used in combination with a password.In the case of a compromised account, the purpose of the token is to improve the security between the two companies.If a user's account credentials are compromised, a third party wouldn't be able to access it.

A user has a security token that is related to their password.Depending on the application, there are two ways to enter the security token.

If you use the first case, you add the token to the end of your password.The brackets would not be entered.

If your password was football and your security token was fidneS38Dn, you would enter it.

There are a few things that can trip up users and administrators.

The security token is reset when a user resets their password.The integration will break if that user's security token was used to integrate third-party applications.You will need to re-enter your security token into the application when you reset your account password.

If you can't remember your security token, the only way to get it is to reset it.The only way to view your token within the web application is to reset it.You will need to update your integrations if the existing token is used.

If a user has been removed from the platform, their security token is invalid as well, because they no longer have a valid account.This would cause the security token of the deactivated user to break.The user's original security token will work until a password reset or token reset is requested.

The application does not allow a user to view their security token.You can gain access to your security token by going to "Setup", which appears in the top right corner.

You will receive an email with your new security token.You should save this email in a secure location so that you don't have to reset your security token every time you need it.
