When you look at a slab of granite, you will see various pieces in a speckled pattern that come together to form the stone. Some granite has more of a veined look, similar to marble, but if you look closely, the color patches tend to have a more grainy, blurry look rather than distinct streaks.
What are the different types of granite?
- Santa (St.) Cecilia granite.
- Uba Tuba granite. Uba Tuba granite is a type of granite mined in Brazil that takes on a dark color due to an abundance of mica.
- Kashmir White granite.
- (New) Venetian Gold granite.
- Giallo Ornamental granite.
- Tan Brown granite.
- Baltic Brown granite.
- Black Pearl granite.
Natural granite countertops will have seams somewhere on the surface. Once you find the seam, take a close look. If the pattern on the other side of the seam is slightly different, it is likely real granite. However, if the pattern is exactly the same, it is likely that you have fake granite.Sep 3, 2019
