Amazon today unveiled a textbook rental service for the company's Kindle e-reader. Students can rent e-textbooks for as few as 30 days and extend rental periods in one-day increments. The notes are stored in the Amazon cloud and can be automatically synced if you re-rent a textbook.

You may receive a new or a used textbook, based on availability. All used textbooks will be in acceptable rental condition, as determined by us. Simply go to the Manage Your Rental page to view your rental library. Select the textbook you wish to purchase and then proceed through the checkout process.
Do Amazon ebook rentals return automatically?
Amazon allows customers to return Ebooks within seven days of being purchased. Customers will be automatically refunded with credits, which they can use to purchase other Ebooks through Amazon.
