Both expensive and inexpensive jackets have a tendency to lose feathers. There are a few suggestions to solve this issue.

If the jacket is new and the problem is excessive, you can return it.Pull the escaping feathers towards the inside of the jacket when they decide to stick out.More feathers will escape if you pull out the feathers.Put your jacket in the dryer and run it for 15 minutes.

The reason that this works is because the jacket makes it easier for the feathers to fit through the weave. If you fluff your feathers, they will fatten up and have a harder time fitting through the fabric.

To prevent the feathers from clinging to your clothing, wear a thin nylon jacket underneath your jacket.Scotchgard products can't keep feathers inside jackets.
