How do you check the transmission fluid in a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan?

The transmission fluid level does not appear to be checked with a dipstick.I found a port that said it was a dealer maintenance access.Since I don't go to the dealer for simple maintenance, what should I expect when I have an oil change?

They only want your money because they don't want anyone working there cars.

If you park your vehicle in the same place all the time, back our about 1 car length and look for drips. You can sort out drips by color and smell.Take a look at where the drips are coming from..Engine oil, coolant, trans fluid, etc.All of them have their own smell and color. If you know what good fluids look like ahead of time, you will not have to worry about a leak.

I keep my 3rd Dodge minivan for about 10 years and I always look for puddles or drops of fluid on my parking place.Whoever buys them can probably squeeze another 50 or 60 k miles out of them. The V6 Pentastar engine in my Dodge Caravan is much improved and it is very smooth to drive.I think it's odd that Chrysler didn't use the transmission dipstick.Look for leaks in your parking space. If you can't roll under, get a mirror on a stick and a flashlight.

There is a cape under the big cooling pipe that says garage maintenance.

They said they checked fluid level, but the van was making a noise at 43 mph when it turned left.?

We put a new battery and two new alternators in the 2012 Dodge grand caravan that we bought. The battery light came on again. It won't start now.It burns oil like no other.
