How do you jump start a truck with a 12volt system?
This is the post.We are going to jump start a 24 Volt system using an ordinary vehicle.A few things to keep in mind and a few mistakes that can cost you a lot of time, so read carefully and make sure you have the correct connections.
First hand experience is what I will speak about in this post. Most people know that I live in a bus. There is a starting battery configuration for the motorhome. The batteries are connected in a series to give 24 Volts.
The most common setup for 24 Volt systems in trucks and buses is the battery system connected.
The + (positive/red) jumper cable should be connected to the Red terminal of the 12V car battery.See the diagram.
Make sure it doesn't touch anything else. The jumper cable should be connected to the Earth terminal of the 12V car battery.
The jumper cable should be connected to the negative terminal marked B in the diagram.
You are sharing the charge with the other bus battery because you are charging the one 12 Volt battery. It is safe. Before attempting to start the bus/truck, run the car for about one minute.Once the bus starts, it's a good idea to remove the jumper cables so that the alternator bus can take over.
The same result will be achieved if the red jumper cable is connected to the + / positive terminal marked "A" and the black jumper Cable is used to connect the Earth terminal or the Chassis of the bus.
Do you have a classic story?Tell us what happened with the comments at the end of the post.
The battery jumper pack is a great invention.I have had mine for three years. It is tucked away in the back of my van.I charge it once every 6 months, not that it needs it, but I like to keep it full.
It can start 5 cars in a row before it needs to be charged, it is very light and starts up to 2.5L diesels and v6 petrol engines. It is more than just a Jump Start, it is a complete Power Bank that can charge your phone and anything else that uses a power bank.
If you have a battery issue and need to replace it, check out this post on which battery is best for your application. The latest Lead Crystal battery technology is explained by me.

The diagram says it all, thanks to Noah.I took a screen shot of your post and uploaded it to my kit.
I am not the only one.I have been starting many of our trucks with my portable jumper here in New Zeland. Many of our trucks have been sitting over Covid lockdown and need a proper battery charge after getting them running.
I was curious to find out if anyone else had done it.Thank you for the post!
Good on you, Sam.You spent a lot of time on the great comment. It will give others confidence in our information. It was great to be of service.Kind regards Noah.
Hi Noah! Thanks for sharing your experience.I am glad I read your post because I wouldn't have come up with this.I know it is safe if we hook the jumper cables to the correct terminals. It is easy but we must be careful.A distraction can be costly.Thank you for including the diagram.
Henry, thanks for your comment.I'm glad I could help you.Stay away from the virus, have a great day!Kind regards Noah.
Thanks for your comment, Alan.Did you do a jump-start?Let us know how it went.Have a great year!
