All you do is screw Vika Furusund table legs into the bottom/rear of the Brimnes headboard. I went with these legs because they are solid wood, and you need to cut them down. I sawed off the few inches I measured, then screwed the legs into the headboard.
Are slats included in Ikea beds?
IKEA mattresses do not come with slats as part of the purchase, but they can be purchased separately in a variety of sizes, from king, queen, twin beds, double, and single beds. However, when buying a bed frame from IKEA, it will come with bed slats included.

That being said, some sleepers still prefer a flat surface in between the slats and mattress, especially to help avoid sinking. Instead of a box spring, you can place a piece of plywood or a bunkie board there instead.

Can you attach any headboard to an Ikea bed?
It should be pretty simple, headboards attach with standard fittings, however your issue might be that they fittings are usually on the bed, so you will need to buy them separately. Alternatively, if you have another bed it probably already has them. Just unscrew and attach to the Ikea bed.
