How far past the window should a curtain rod go?
There is a wall on the right side of the window.I'm curious how far I can extend the rod to show more curtain when the window is open.Is it possible to have the rod butting all the way up to the side wall?Should I have more than 2 inches?Or 5 inches?I'm going for a dark bar and not fancy ball ornaments.
To locate the rod, I would run it from wall to wall.Unless the curtains were dark, I wouldn't use a dark rod.The dark line was a distraction when I did that once.I would like to get rid of the mirror closet doors.I wouldn't want to look at myself in bed.
Is that really true?Do you want to run the bar from wall to wall?If the bar was long on the left side, it would look weird. What about when the curtain is not closed?Do I leave the curtains the same size?Is the left one wide?
This is a small room with dark floors, so I suggest getting a color that isn't too dark.It will make the room look smaller and it will bring attention to the curtains.I like curtains to blend in in smaller rooms to make them feel larger.
The room is bright. The windows are messing with the camera exposure. The wood is not dark or light. The place is usually washed with light and it's west-facing window.
You could fill in the empty space with a silk plant.
Wow!I understand.I would like to thank you guys.I think full width is the way to go.I have to decide whether to run the rod all the way up to the wall or not.Hmm...
It's a good idea to place the rod halfway between the window and the ceiling.Since the window is not centered, I would leave a few inches of space on the right side.
The curtain width is related to the glass.Unless you have three panels per side.I wouldn't go more than a few inches off.Trust me, the air will come in.Give them a push. The window is too wide for a single panel. Not enough will be the result. You need at least two panels on each side of the scenario.
Divide your window by 1.3 and round it up.The best size rod will allow for plenty of stackback.
I mounted them in the full width of the room. Thanks a lot for the tip.I would have mounted close to the window frame if it weren't for you.
When I shoot against the light it makes my room look dark.
The curtains are too short and not wide.I will buy double-width ones and longer, then cut to the right length, just above the floor but not touching.
I will replace the ceiling fan.Let me know if you like modern ones.Light or dark is fine.
I will probably get rid of the vertical blinds and go for light-filtering curtains on the inside rod or bamboo blinds. The idea is to have an option to block out the sun in the evening but not completely block the room.Any other ideas?
Is the curtains too high?I wonder if they are crowding the mold too much.If I push the curtains in closer to the wall, it will crowd less.I'm using Ikea curtain hardware.
Do you think I should go for a lighter curtain color?I like the dark rod.White rods look plastic-ey.
I like grommets because they slide and fold up nicely and are willing to explore others.
I think they are tall.Extra wide panels are difficult to handle. The panels are easily separated for hanging or cleaning. If you don't intend to open and close the pockets, they will only work.If you use enough panels, that is a wide span for only three brackets.
