You are supposed to use what is called a "Turbo-Torch" for MAPP gas, you cannot use a propane torch head. I use a Bernzomatic self igniting torched head that came with MAPP bottles and have used it with propane and had no problems. Going the other way will not work. Propane only torch head will not work for MAPP gas.
