Triethylborane (Et3B) in the syringe should be kept under argon at all times. Any Et3B remaining in the syringe should be diluted with CH2Cl2 and quenched by stirring the solution open to air overnight in a hood. If a spark is observed at the needle tip, fresh Et3B must be used.
