Based on our experience and many customers, the fleece liner can last for well over a year if well maintained. We still use our original prototypes, which are still in great condition after over 2 years.
Do GuineaDad liners smell?
Smell is non-existent with these. They are super absorbent and wick urine down inside the liner; I've never noticed any wet spots. If you have older or sickly pigs who absolutely need to be dry, these would be perfect. I have three guinea pigs, in two Midwest cages.
Do you have to wash GuineaDad liners before use?
Before letting Winnie and Rosie try out the fleece liner, we were instructed to wash and dry the fleece at least three times before using. GuineaDad says this is necessary to allow the initial coating of the fabric to wear off. So wash and dry three times we did.2 Aug 2017
How do you clean GuineaDad liners?
Settings: Always use cold water, medium spin, and heavy soil level. If available, use the extra spin and extra rinse options. We also use the "bedding" option on your washer; it helps to get all the urine out of your liner- ew! Do not fill either the detergent compartments to MAX.16 Nov 2018
Are GuineaDad liners worth it?
It took some courage to take the plunge with GuineaDad, since it is a significant financial investment upfront, but it is so worth it. The liners are designed to fit my Midwest cage; they're a little bit bigger, to allow for possible shrinkage from washing/drying, which I appreciate.
How long do fleece liners last?
All fleece cage liners should be changed out every 4-7 days or as needed. Please do not keep them in the cage any longer, even if the cage liner still feels dry to the touch.

Do GuineaDad liners shrink?
Note: GuineaDad Liner will shrink couple inches after an initial couple washes. Don't worry, we've made the liner larger to compensate for it. The liner may still be a bit larger than the cage after the wash.
