Vélib' was a large-scale public bicycle sharing system in Paris, France. The name Vélib' is a portmanteau of the French words vélo ("bicycle") and liberté ("freedom"). Vélib' was operated originally as a concession by the French advertising corporation JCDecaux.
How much does a Vélib bike cost?
The first 30 minutes are always free! After that, the second half hour costs 1€; the third half hour costs 2€; from the fourth half hour on, each half hour costs 4€. So if you rent a bike for two hours, you will pay a total of 7€ in addition to your subscription fee.13 Nov 2016

How do I use Vélib code?
- Press the ✔ key.
- Scan your card (Vélib' or Navigo).
- Enter your access code (8 digits) and validate by pressing ✔.
- Enter your secret code (4 digits) and validate by pressing ✔.
- Scan your card again: the GO symbol appears.
How does the Vélib deposit work?
Simply swipe your credit card at one the of the Vélib stations and select your option. Your card will be charged a deposit of 150€, but this is returned providing you don't write off the bike, of course. After following the instructions on the machine, you can choose your bike on screen.10 May 2019

Does Vélib require a deposit?
