What happens after a consultation for braces?
With your paperwork completed you will now be greeted by a Treatment Coordinator. The Treatment Coordinator will introduce you to the practice and the amenities it has to offer. In some offices an orthodontic assistant will take initial records including orthodontic x-rays, photos of your teeth and scans of our bite.
What is the second appointment for braces?
This will include recording impressions of your teeth, taking up to date X-rays if necessary and Photos of your teeth and face. We will carry out a thorough examination of the face, the jaws and the teeth. This is usually followed by radiographs (X-ray examination) and impressions (moulds) of the teeth.
What happens during braces appointment?
The orthodontic assistant will first remove your elastics, which hold each bracket to the arch wire. The archwire is removed. The orthodontist will examine the progress your teeth are making, and replace anything that needs replacing (such as the elastics, or sometimes the archwire).
How many phases do braces have?
Orthodontic treatment is highly predictable and immensely successful. Depending on the severity of the malocclusion (bad bite) or irregularity, orthodontic treatments may occur in either two or three distinct phases.
