Why is it called shuffleboard?
Back in 15th Century England, folks played a game of sliding a "groat" (a large British coin of the day worth about four pence) down a table. The game was called shove groat and/or slide groat. ... Is a 12 foot shuffleboard table fun?
While you can still have fun on 12 and 14 feet shuffleboard tables, when you get down to a 9 foot table, the playing surface is a little on the short side and not near as challenging.Aug 4, 2013
