Female eyes are so unique that drawing them can be difficult. As long as you follow basic guidelines, you can modify your drawing so it looks natural. The eye and eyebrow should be sketched out first. You can shade in the eye with a Blending stump andKneaded eraser.Even a beginning artist can create a realistic eye.
Step 1: Use a pencil to draw the outline of the eye.
Take your pencil and draw a shape that is large enough for the eye to see.You will need to draw a half-circle near the inner eye.The tear duct will be here.Try to draw from real life or have a reference photo handy to look at.
Step 2: You can draw the outline of the iris.
The iris can be created by drawing a circle that takes up 1/3 of the eyeball. The circle should be hidden by the eyelid to give the eye a sense of depth.Draw a circle near the center of the eye.If you have a hard time drawing circles, you can use a compass or trace something round. If you're drawing someone outside with lots of light, the pupil will be small. If you're drawing a woman's eye in low lighting, make it bigger. If you need to make changes, press lightly.
Step 3: Curved lines can be used to make long eyelashes.
As you quickly make lots of small strokes along the upper eyelid, make a flicking motion with your wrist. You can make the eyelashes darker or thicker if the woman is wearing mascara. There is a small gap between the bottom eyelid and the eyelashes.Lower eyelashes are usually shorter than upper eyelashes.
Step 4: To get the eye depth, draw a curved upper eyelid.
The curved lid can be made close or far from the eyelash line.If you want to position it close to the eyelash line, keep in mind that some women have curves along the upper eyelid. It's not necessary to shade or fill in the upper eyelid at this point.
Step 5: There is a faint outline of the eyebrow.
The general shape of the woman's eyebrow is along the brow bone.It could be thick or narrow, arched, or defined.Once you've drawn the rest of the eye, you can fill it in.Above the eye sockets is the brow bone. The hairs at the fullest part of the eyebrow should be pointing up.The hairs should be drawn near the outer edge.
Step 6: The areas you want to leave light are outlined.
If the woman's eye is reflecting light from a window or lamp, lightly outline the shape that is reflected. If light is being reflected from a window, you can draw a small square near one side of the iris. The highlighted shape can be made into a circle.
Step 7: You can sketch around the middle ring of the iris.
The iris of the eye is likely to be darker around the pupils and the outer edge. You can leave this lighter than the edges by sketching around the middle of the iris's ring.Don't draw over the reflection you blocked off.
Step 8: The iris can be darkened by filling in the pupil.
The pupils should be dark so it's black.Press firmly as you draw the outline and around the reflection you blocked off.You can use a dark pencil or go over the outline several times to make it appear dark.Don't draw or fill in the area of the iris that you're going to highlight.
Step 9: There are sketch spokes across the highlighted part of the iris.
The lighter part of the iris was blocked off.Draw lines from the pupil to the edge of the iris with your pencil. To make the iris look realistic, try to use shorter, darker strokes next to the pupil. To make the iris appear defined, leave a few bold strokes. It should not be a smooth texture.
Step 10: The iris can be lightened with an eraser or stump.
If you find that the iris is too dark, you can smudge the excess ink off of the paper with a pencil or a paper blend stump.Remove or blend until you lighten the iris as you please. If you draw a very dark iris, you don't need to lighten it.
Step 11: Darken the eyelash.
Drawing over the eyelash line will create even more depth. If you want the eye to have eyeliner or heavy mascara, this is important. If you want to have eyeliner on the lower eyelash line, make that line darker as well.
Step 12: You can fill in the eyebrow with a lot of short hairs.
Instead of drawing rows of hairs, make hairs that overlap each other. To make the eyebrow look natural, sketch the hairs closest to the inner eye.As you draw the hairs in the middle of the eyebrow, keep in mind which eye you're drawing. The small hairs should be pointed down when you reach the narrow end of the eyebrow.Continue to add hairs until you fill in the brow and make them look natural.
Step 13: Light can be added to the white of the eye.
The white of the eye probably stands out.To make it look more realistic, use a blend stump with a small amount of graphite on it or a pencil and shade around the corners of the eye.You need to blend where the white and iris meet. You can shade the tear duct near the inner corner of the eye.
Step 14: It's a good idea to shade the skin around the eye.
It is possible to add depth to the skin under the eye with a pencil or stump. You will want to blend the skin near the upper eyelid's crease. To highlight the browbone, lightly or smudge it with a clean stump.
