One can sit and feel clean through the use of steam in traditional Nordic saunas, which are usually small rooms made with wooden benches. It is important that you maintain the sauna on a regular basis because it is a moist environment with dirty skin cells.Saunas don't need the same amount of cleaning as your bathroom does. The sauna needs proper maintenance to keep the environment clean, preventbacteria and mold from growing, and make sure you get a great experience each time you use it.
Step 1: After use, clean the benches, walls, and backrests.
You can scrub the areas where you sat during the steaming by dipping a hand brush into a bucket of water. For regular cleaning, 30 seconds of scrubbing should suffice. When you're done, rinse the wood with clean water. As you leave the sauna, keep your brush and bucket near the door to remind you to clean.
Step 2: You can scrub stains with a brush.
If you notice sweat stains on the wood, you don't want them to stay.Use towels in the sauna to prevent stains if you dip your hand brush into a solution of warm water and detergent. You should lay one on the bench where you will be sitting if you don't want to wear one during the steam. It will prevent sweat, dirt, and dead skin from getting into the wood.If it's difficult to get stains out of the wood, use a light sandpaper.
Step 3: There is a vacuum on the floor.
Use a vacuum to pick up loose particles if you tracked dirt, hair, or other stuff on the floor. You should vacuum every few weeks if you don't see any dirt.
Step 4: It's a good idea to Disinfect any grates.
Places that may not dry as quickly and can breed pathogens are included. They should be taken out of the sauna and scrubbed down to prevent mold andbacteria.
Step 5: Get out of the sauna.
You can wash your sauna with soap and a hose.If you want a mild cleaner, avoid stronger chemicals like ammonia. If you use the sauna everyday, you should do this every few days, but if you don't, it can be less.
Step 6: Every year there are sand benches.
It's a good idea to sand down your benches at least once a year. This will help smooth out the surface as well as get rid of any impurities that may have gathered over the year. The wood should be a white color when you are done.
Step 7: The mold needs to be cleaned out.
Go after the mold immediately if you notice it.The best way to get rid of it is to use a bleach solution.
Step 8: Take care of the floor.
If you want to get rid of odors on the floor, you can use a deodorizing cleaner.Stick to soap and water, or cleaners supplied by your sauna's manufacturers, if you want to avoid harsher chemical cleaners.
Step 9: Pressure wash the exterior.
To clean the outside of your sauna, use a pressure washer. This will keep your sauna clean.Don't use the pressure washer on the interior. The pressure washer can damage the wood inside the sauna.
Step 10: General maintenance should be performed.
There will be little things that need work in your sauna.Make sure to clean the water spots with a brush. It will prevent you from having to do more work later. The humidity in the sauna may cause the door to swell. To make sure the door opens and closes correctly, keep an eye on the hinges.
