A skull painted on your face can be used as a skeleton costume. If you don't have any special training in painting faces, you can learn how to paint a skull on your face.If you want to have fun at your next costume party, paint your face to look like a skull.
Step 1: You should collect your materials.
If you want to paint your face to look like a skull, you will need a few special paint brushes and face paints. Before you start, you will need a small paintbrush, a cup of water, and a fine paintbrush for filling in large areas.
Step 2: Take care of your eyes.
Paint white lines around your eye sockets with your paintbrush and white paint. The area just below your eyebrows is called the lower eyelid. To create this outline, trace the bones around your eyes. You can dip your brush into the water if the face paint seems too thick.
Step 3: The outline of the mask should be on your forehead and cheeks.
Next, use the small paintbrush and white face paint to create an outline that extends over your forehead and around your cheekbones. The outline should end at the corner of your lips. When you are done, your outline should look like a skull.
Step 4: There is a triangle above each nostril.
To create two triangles above your nostrils, use the white face paint and your paintbrush. When you are done, there should be a triangle above each nostril.
Step 5: The outline should be filled in.
Next, use a larger brush to fill in the large area that you just painted. The areas around your eyes should not be filled in.Don't paint these areas for now. Before you start shading or adding details, allow the first coat of face paint to dry completely.
Step 6: You can cover your eyebrows with face paint.
Use your paintbrush to paint over your eyebrows.Extending the paint past your eyebrows will make it look like you have bushy grey eyebrows.
Step 7: There are grey half circles.
Use the grey face paint to draw a half circle in the middle of the white painted area below your eye.You should be able to see the ends of the half circle. If you blend the half circle into the white paint, it will be blurry.Under your other eye, repeat this process.
Step 8: The lower edges of the mask are shaded.
To shade the lower edges of the skull, use grey face paint on your small brush. The area is below your face.Shade in both sides.
Step 9: The lines should be above your upper lip.
Next, apply grey face paint and a thin brush to the area above your upper lip.Don't draw these lines on your lip, just above it.Make one line in the center of the area above your upper lip and then move out.
Step 10: Go over the grey areas.
To apply black face paint, dip a thin brush into it.Paint the grey areas with face paint. You can help define the lines by going over them with the grey paint.
Step 11: Black is the color of your eye sockets.
The areas around your eyes should be painted with black face paint.Black face paint can be used to cover the areas under and beside your eyes.Adding black eyeliner to your lower eyelid will make these areas extra dark.It may not be the best design for young kids since it requires you to paint the areas around the eyes.Kids may get face paint into their eyes. The areas around the eyes should not be used for this design for a young child.
Step 12: The triangles above your nostrils should be filled.
To fill in the triangles above your nostrils, use a small paintbrush.Keep the black paint out of the white lines. You can use the thin brush to fill in the triangles if the small brush seems too big.
Step 13: Use black to outline the entire mask.
Next, apply black face paint to your mask and use a small paintbrush to outline it.Try to draw long lines.Go over the lines again to make them bigger.
Step 14: The teeth should be created.
Draw a vertical black line from the center of your upper lip.Continue making vertical black lines along the length of your upper lip as well.Close the teeth with pointed tops. You can apply black face paint to your teeth after you have outlined them.Thin black lines are drawn from the top of the teeth to make them look realistic. There is a dot of white face paint on each tooth.
