The 13 Goals of a Witch can be found in Scott Cunningham's book, "Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner", and are very helpful to many Wiccans. Here are the ways to achieve them.
Step 1: Know who you are.
This may be the most important rule.Wicca depends on knowing your values, strengths, weaknesses, history and what you want to achieve in the future.Don't try to change your personality or values for others. It is possible to keep track of your opinions by debating, writing or talking with friends.
Step 2: Know your craft.
This is more than just what you have read in books or online, it's also your own experiences.Keep a journal and note down things you've learned. It's a good idea to keep it as a record of everything you know about Wicca.
Step 3: Learn.
There's always new information out there, so you should never decide you know everything. You can learn about other people's views and opinions once you've studied all the planets, herbs and omens.Don't forget to learn from your mistakes and the world around you.
Step 4: Knowledge can be applied with wisdom.
If you have malicious intentions, there is a chance that you will backfire at your own expense. If you and your best friend are having an argument, it might be better to talk to them instead of using magic. Also, keep in mind the mundane restrictions on your craft, such as stigma, secrecy, financial situations or other responsibilities. You should attend to urgent things first if you want your craft to take a big place in your life.
Step 5: Balance can be achieved.
Wicca uses all five elements to balance the masculine and feminine, as well as celebrating throughout the cycle of the year. The struggle for many is celebrating all of these parts equally, instead of just the one that's easiest to connect to.You can do this by focusing on one element or deity per week, and rotating between them, developing a connection between each."A Witch's Primer" is a series of podcasts that covers the "power base" rotation concept thoroughly, and guides you through it.
Step 6: Keep your words to yourself.
Anger is good, but violence is not, so don't become aggressive and avoid gossip as much as possible.Do not tell the truth.Neither to anyone but yourself, friends, enemies, family, the internet, or anyone else. It's bad for you because it reduces the power of your intentions during rituals and spells.Don't lie and keep your word.Change the subject as soon as possible if you must lie.Like you would an incantation, keep your words meaningful and choose them wisely.
Step 7: Keep your thoughts straight.
There are situations where people can recover from illnesses if they think they are being cured, while in some cases, stress/negativity/sadness, and so forth, may lead to illness. The idea that thoughts lead to physical effects is what rests on spellwork. It's of paramount importance that you keep the positive and productive ones in your mind, and let the negative ones go, just as you would do while meditating.Don't stress too much, and remember the old saying that "thoughts are like birds, you can stop them from landing on your head, but you cannot prevent them making a nest".
Step 8: It's a good time to celebrate life.
This is what Wicca is all about!Enjoy nature and the Earth, and embrace the little things.Go for walks to parks and sit on the grass under a big tree, look for flowers and herbs in the forest, go swimming at the beach, plant and harvest a garden, teach children good lessons, and do anything else that celebrates the outdoors.Help defend nature's gifts by planting trees, donating to charities, picking up beach rubbish and using organic goods.
Step 9: Listen to the cycles of the Earth.
This means following the seasons and embracing them in simple ways. You can notice the changes in your environment by keeping track of moon phases. As much as possible, keep your own cycles on track. If you want to avoid messing up your sleep cycle, try to sleep a good amount of time each day at a similar time.It is possible that you need to track your menstrual cycle and make sure that no external stimuli are making it irregular.
Step 10: Eat and breathe correctly.
Don't take shallow breaths and try to breathe through your nose and mouth at least once a day. It's a good time to practice. It varies from person to person. Some Wiccans like to eat a raw, paleo vegan diet that they grow in their own garden. Many can't due to lack of money, space, time, and even personal taste.Simple additions can really help if this is the case.Purchasing more seasonal fruits and vegetables in a range of colors, drinking tea with each meal, avoiding processed or artificial additions, and having a big, home-cooked feast for each sabbat are some of the additions.
Step 11: Take care of the body.
If your mind is healthy, so is your body.Exercise will make you feel better because it releases dopamine and endorphins. If you enjoy working out outside in natural settings, you can easily become a Wiccan.Exercise can include swimming at beaches or lakes, mountain-biking, hiking, walking, yoga, dance or anything else that can help keep you physically and mentally fit.Rather than focusing on losing weight, focus on feeling better and being able to use your body to its full potential.
Step 12: Meditate.
Every day will do wonders for your spirituality if you practice a regular meditation, ritual or other spiritual practice. You can get answers to questions you don't know you have, a better knowledge of yourself, and a closer relationship with the deities you identify with if you meditate. It helps center you and give you more clarity.
Step 13: You should honor your deities.
Whether they are an ancient pantheon, an eclectic mix, your own unique deities, the classic Horned God and Mother Goddess, or an ambiguous "spirit", honor them every day.Through calling upon them during rituals, create altars or pray to them.Act well throughout the day and be the best self you can be.Become a physical embodiment of your deities ideals.
