Step 1: If it isn't already off, turn off the phone.
When you see the switch appear at the top of the screen, press and hold the Power button.You will need to wipe the phone to factory settings if it is a previously used one.You need to make sure that your phone is locked.
Step 2: You should back up your old phone's information.
Your contacts, settings, and on-phone data are included.How you back up your information will depend on your current phone.You will be able to restore the backup once you have activated your phone.If you want to back up your phone, use the internet.You will be able to transfer your contacts later.If you have a phone, you can back up your information to the cloud and then restore it later from the app.
Step 3: It's time to turn off your phone.
If your old phone is still turned on, you won't be able to use your new phone.Wait a few minutes after turning off the old phone before trying to use it.If your phone isn't a phone, you should remove the battery as well.
Step 4: Turn on your phone.
Press and hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears, then release the button and wait for the phone to start up.You should see a screen that says "Hello" in several different languages when the phone starts to work.Attach your phone to its charge as well if it is low on battery.
Step 5: Get started.
