An animated Gif image can be used in an email. The easiest way to do this is to copy a Gif's web address and use it to create a new one, but you can also send a GIF file to your email if the GIF is already on your computer. You can't send animated GIFs from within the Gmail mobile app.
Step 1: You can open a web browser.
If you don't have a computer, you'll need to find your preferred GIF and copy its web address. If you already have a Gif on your computer, you should open it.
Step 2: You can search for a picture.
Press enter if you want to type a description of your Gif into a search engine. Many of the results are images. If you wanted to find a beluga whale playing a piano in a Gif, you would type it in.Click the tab on the results page to sort by image for most search engines.Clicking on the results page will allow you to view this option.
Step 3: You can open the page.
If the page doesn't open the first time, then you have to click the GIF again.
Step 4: You can copy the link of the Gif.
In most cases, you'll do this by clicking the URL that's in the address bar at the top of the page to select it and then pressing Command+C.Giphy requires you to click near the Gif at which point you'll be able to copy it's actual link by selecting the "GIF link" (or similar) link.
Step 5: You can open Gmail.
You can go to it in your web browser. If you log into your Gmail account, this will open your inbox. When prompted, enter your email address and password.
Step 6: Click to propose.
It's on the left side of the page.A new email window opens when you do that.
Step 7: Enter the email address of the recipient.
In the "To" text field at the top of the email window, type in your recipient's email address.
Step 8: Click on the "Insert Photo" icon.
There is an icon at the bottom of the email window. This will open the window.Go to the location of the file on your computer and click and drag it into your email's window. You can skip the next three steps.
Step 9: You can click on the Web Address tab.
The image window has this in it.
Step 10: The link will take you to a Gif.
In the text box that's in the middle of the Web Address page, you can paste the link into it.If the address doesn't allow the GIF to be inserted, you'll have to download the file instead. If you click in the resulting drop-down menu, you can do this.
Step 11: Click it to insert.
There is a button at the bottom of the window.Though it won't appear as a Gif in many cases, you can insert it into your email.Once you send the email, the broken image icon won't be a problem.
Step 12: Write your email down.
In the main window, add the rest of your email's text. You can add a subject to your email.
Step 13: You can click Send.
The email window has it at the bottom. The email will be sent to the person you want to receive it; when the email is opened, the animated GIF will appear.
